¿how are you being forced? ¿What is the guild doing?
I can’t reasonably get this characters gear again, I have to move it to era because there are no character copies. This effectively turns everything I got into a selfish “I have to keep it” because of the transfer, not copy.
But the guild you’re playing with, are they moving to era or staying for TBC? What is it that makes it so you cant stay with them?
They’re going forward to TBC.
Then whats the problem? Cant you just move with them? Sorry, I’m having a hard time understanding what you claim to be losing here.
So you want two thunderfuries is what you’re saying? What good is it to carry into tbc anyway?
The debuff is good enough for Karazhan at least, tank weapon DPS is less relevant than a free extra thunderclap on hit
He wants two thunderfury characters and is crying blizzard won’t let him.
This is something that everyone seems to forget. It was a fast moving classic version for the sake of it. There was zero reasonable expectation to have an option to transfer to era or even progress to TBC.
Like boohoo people rolled on a seasonal server because it was the hype thing to do and now they are crying because they can’t carry their character into TBC and have a copy on era. Really thoughanyone with half a brain fully expected to just lose the character once the timeline was up. Lucky enough to even get a chance to carry into TBC.
RIP to this guy’s thunderfury hahaha
People will be clearing karazhan in quest greens and dungeon blues. Meanwhile TF is amazing in vanilla. Hard decision indeed!
If that’s the case, why not transfer to era with your TF and level up a new toon when prepatch hits and stay with your guild?
Or just keep TF for TBC because it’s still something you can show off.
I guess I don’t know what your end game for this is… because era is permanent, and TBC is most likely going to continue to progress to WotLK and possibly beyond.
It’s not like you lose TF if you stay for TBC. You’ll always have it to show off (which is the only purpose for TF beyond era).
Exactly. I know the right path forward today looks like transfer to Era and level new warrior for the guild in TBC. I just think thats totally forcing me to be selfish to retain my power in Era, and otherwise a pain I wish Blizzard would let me pay to relieve.
They did it before, didn’t project any info about not doing it again, they can mitigate all the potential issues with duping etc, so why not? My largest frustration here is the lack of communication at all, no explanation, no qualification, just here you go make your choice.
I’m part of a cohort of folks who are in love with the core game they made so long ago, and have stayed loyal and engaged. They worked with private server communities and bought a lot of good will with classic players to get us back for 2019 Classic, and now again in anniversary.
Classic (and TBC) are the versions of the game for me, far and away. It just seems like its always something wrong.
That’s fair, and I agree… but this is no longer OG Blizzard, this is Microsoft… $$$ is the bottom line.
I’m not against copying, just don’t think Microsoft cares enough to give in, and the bottom line won’t be affected enough to change their minds. TF and Atiesh are still very rare, so it only affects a small minority of players. Unfortunately the powers that be only care about how much $$$ they can extract from us players.
I plan on playing TBC but not as extensively as before. I see the writing on the wall.
We want copies blizzard! You failed to inform us at the beginning of anniversary what your intentions were and waited till last moment to screw everyone.
I just think thats totally forcing me to be selfish
How? Your ‘power’ is at most Nagrand quest blues, you’re not costing your guild anything by not lending them your ‘power’. You can tank Ramparts for them in boost gear if its about time spent leveling back, what exactly are you on about? Likewise, if you do move it to BC, then you get to tank for them for a few levels and thats it, if you’re not going to leave them what do you care about having a BIS toon on Era that you wont ever use?
I really wish Blizzard would directly communicate regarding copies. Launch date wouldn’t hurt either, some of us are planning PTO.
It’s the principal. I either get marginal (your point) power increase 60-70, or I take it all back for myself. I do intend to play classic era, as there is no other permanent place for classic wow players. I happen to prefer classic and tbc over every version of the game.

Then move your thunderfury to Era where it matters and invest on providing the guild a lvl 70 tank if you feel guilty about it, don’t see the issue. You can also get a thunderfury far easier at 70 if for some reason you want to.
