I went on my second character to do the new 9.2 content and saw that I could skip the story that I just did with my main. I didn’t realize that I would miss the massive reputation it gives. Is there a way to fix my error?
Or, did I just lose a week of progress with a single click?
I was getting ready to start a topic about this as well. Why don’t we get the rep associated with the quests skipped? This is a very valid question we finished those quest technically we should have the rep associated with them, just the same as finishing any other quest. It will put any character that uses the skip system roughly 2000-3000 rep behind which also defeats the purpose of getting alts up to endgame. (Like the locked all 226-conduit item behind rep/bind on pickup.)
Pretty much I think so, unless the dev’s decide to change this system at this time.
I agree, We should get the reputation from the skipped quests. I would not have skipped if i knew it would put me 1 week behind
Honestly I am not sure you should get the rewards for content you made the decision to skip.
Same thing happened with Soul Ash in 9.0. It’s annoying, and not necessary. What they could do is let us do it again after we choose to skip it.
agreed, although Im personally of the view that rep should be account wide.
Im playing the game as a player, not a character. My time has been spent running the rep. Just make it account wide.
I think at the very least there should be a disclaimer. The same thing happened with the skip feature for Korthia. I think the question “Why don’t we get the rep associated with the quests skipped?” quite literally answers itself.
I do agree that rep and currencies should be account-wide. But at the moment they are not so meh.
Fortunately for ME, I am not concerned with my alts progress, I just wanted to get them into ZM. And I enjoyed the quests involving the Brokers, but to be honest I am detached from the main plot, and the characters Bolvar and Xovaal. So I was very quick to skip the intro, as I felt those parts just dragged. Even though I was trying my best to power through.
100% agree
Isn’t this similar to how if you used the campfire in Timeless Isle to skip the WoD intro quests, you miss out entirely on the rewards from those quests? All the characters I did that with started a bit behind on things compared the characters that went through with the intro.
Actually, is there a prior example of a skip granting the rewards from the skipped content? Genuinely curious. I can’t think of any but that could just be my shoddy memory.
No, you lost your progress with a few clicks. They warn you before you agree to do the skip.
I’m sorry but this one is on you.
You didn’t do the quests, you don’t get the reward. Same reason when you opt to do threads of fate you don’t get all the quest gear drops, gold, or XP you would have gotten doing the campaign quests.
You are choosing to value your IRL time over some rep that won’t matter here soon. If having multiple mains means that much to you, then do the work X number of times.
My alts will skip and I’m fine if that means they’ll get double legendaries 1 week later.
because you skipped them and did not do them. Don’t do the quest, don’t get the rewards.
but I’m actually surprised there’s a skip for 9.2 already.
they really should put a warning that you’ll lose out on the questing rewards when you use a skip though.
No fix there. They should of really done a better job giving a tooltip that warns you when wanting to skip. But if you think about it… you want the advantage of a skip, so it’s only fair you’ll lose some stuff by skipping those intro stuffs.
You aren’t in a race though, just chalk it up to a lesson learned and move on, you’ll save yourself the headache, nerves or what have you in the process.
It tells you that theres no way to go back and do them again. It is implied that you lose the progress attached to it.
Just like Korthia skip did.
Are you seriously asking why you didn’t get rewards for content you skipped?
What exactly is “massive”? I’m barely into friendly with the Enlightened and I did everything on my main, including all dailies and campaign.
It equates to about a work weeks worth of rep I believe. (Five days or so)
Do you start unfriendly or something? Like I said I’m barely into friendly, like 640 rep in. Pretty sure we start at neutral or friendly, I didn’t look.
But whichever way you slice it, why would you get rep for rep quests and content you didn’t do? What if I complained I didn’t do a M+ this week but I still want something in the vault.
I cannot remember, I am assuming we started at neutral. To be honest, I am not in the same frame of mind as others who are racing to a finish line so I don’t look look at stuff like that.
All I know is, I knew what I was getting into with the skip because I have used the ToF skip and Korthia skip quite liberally.
To me, a more appropriate comparison would be like skipping the gym for the day and going home and wondering why no gains.
They warn you you are about to skip, but does the warning say, “You will miss out on ~2.5K rep with the Enlightened and you will not be able to undo this action” or even “You will not gain any of the rewards for skipped quests and this action cannot be undone”?
If so, then fair enough.
If not, then I’d argue the complaints are at least somewhat valid.
If you are asked to make an irreversible choice in the game without knowing upfront what that choice will cost you, then you can’t make an informed decision and that is a problem.
