Lorthemar and thalyssra spoiler

marriage in medieval times implies the union of kingdoms! i want to see that we now have united kingdom of suramar-quelthalas. They should also have new titles like lord protector and grand magistrix

“Several years have passed quietly since our forces returned from the Shadowlands.”?

So Blizzard’s going with the time skip now? Seems inconsistent to me (those devs are as consistent as a house of cards in a hurricane). I wonder what lazy writing this time skip will be used as an excuse for smh

I do like the idea of Lor’themar and Thalyssra getting married, though. That provides a lot of story opportunity.

I wonder what a half Nightborne, half Blood Elf would look like?

Purple with Black hair? Light skinned with white hair is Lorthemar already.

And I am not sure about the canon heights of races. They are always depicted differently. But the in game models have a noticeable height discrepancy.

I’m iffy on this only because a marriage between these two makes a mess to what it means for their kingdoms. Would their offspring inherit both of them? We still need to know what the successor to Lor’themar is.

There’s no lazy writing or inconsistency. The expansion most likely simply place takes years after Shadowlands ended. Time didn’t pass faster while we were in the Shadowlands.

could be a blood elf with nightborne eye color and purple blue hair and with nightborne tattoos

That’s still a time skip, and it could still be a cop-out, though you’re right about it not being the one I thought.

Could it be a wedlock thing? They fast-tracked marriage because Thalyssra’s already expecting?

A time skip is desperately needed, considering there’s consistently been a world-ending threat every year for the last, like, seven years. The only issue with it is the world absolutely will not update to accommodate; Sentinel Hill will still be on fire, Durotar will still be recently flooded, etc.

I just wish they’d be more specific than “several years”.

Possibly. Could be interesting if that’s the case, assuming they don’t mess it up.

Were the Night Elves still living in Stormwind for all those years?

Elisande had multiple concubines, so perhaps Nightborne don’t value that kind of thing much.

Oh yeah, the refugees are 100% still going to be in Stormwind too.

Officially the night elves have moved to Hyjal and have been there since like BfA’s ending, but we will never see this in-game.

Is that confirmed? I’ve been told otherwise by Night Elf players.

Thalyssra x Lor’themar FINALLY canon? I’m out of words! This is awesome! Suramar and Quel’Thalas unification hopefully coming soon!

I think it’s been the case since Shadows Rising

So is Hyjal the Night Elves’ new home, or is it simply where Tyrande met with Thrall?

To my understanding, it’s their home. That’s why Thrall went there because it’s where they’re staying.

I mean it’s unclear. Tyrande and Malfurion were certainly ruling the kaldorei from Hyjal, and there’s other incidental evidence* from those interactions with Thrall, but nothing that explicitly indicates a mass (de)exodus back to Hyjal.

*that is, Thrall needing an intercession from the Earthern Ring to gain access to Hyjal without being murdered, and his subsequent fear of the night elves descending upon Orgrimmar if not handled with care.

I don’t care if it’s cringe, I really like the Lor’themar/Thalyssra ship and I stan the adorable relationship of absolutely nerdery that has blossomed between these two races.

It’s been canon for a while, there was a short story about them in 2020!

I kind of interpreted as more of a ‘base of operations’ but it seems the majority have relocated to Hyjal for the time being.

Good point. Maybe not so much expectations, but more “they’ve already got a baby on the way, so why not make it official?”
