I’m a big fan of the Lorewalking feature that was added with the latest 11.1.7 patch. It has always felt like there was no one good place to tell someone to go look into a character other than telling them to go read books or a wiki.
I appreciate that there is now an in-game way to go through the story and in some cases even add new things. I liked how not all of it chronological like with Xal’atath’s story in the third part adding new story set thousands of years in the past. Even the old TBC quests were nice as a refresher for a player like me I had forgotten small little details like the Nexus-princes used to being part of the Ethereum ruling class.
Jim Cummings as Lorewalker Cho who has always been an amazing voice actor. I also like that the Lorewalkers are expanding beyond just Pandaria to record all history for Azeroth. I like the narration throughout the questing that sums it up for players who don’t want to read quest text and for those who want to dig in for a bit more info can check out the dialogue text for in-depth explanations.
I’m sure there is already a plan to add more of them but I’d like to shoot my suggestions anyways of what characters I hope to see:
- Azshara (I’d love to see Azshara pre-war of the ancients as a ruler)
- Denathrius
- Garrosh
- Gul’dan (Learning more of his past in-game would be cool)
- Illidan
- Jaina (I hope a chapter is about her facing her father in Theramore)
- Kael’thas
- Kel’thuzad
- Lei Shen (hope to see his first death in Uldum)
- Neltharion (Would love to see more of him pre-corruption)
- Yrel
Also some minor things I’d give feedback on:
- For Lorewalker’s Cho explanation of Netherstorm I feel they should also mention that Manaforges were built using the Naaru technology of Tempest Keep by the blood elves
- For Cho’s explanation of Nexus-King Salhadaar he mentions that “Salhadaar led them to other words.” as funny as the typo is, it should be worlds
- Some disconnecting issues when initiating Lorewalking that sends me to the Great Sea with fatigue bar already halfway down happened around 3 times
