Lore-wise. Tauren priests should be a thing

Yes, I know priests weren’t available in Vanilla, but they should have been, as per long standing lore.

Sun Worship was right next to Moon Worship in Tauren culture, sure due to influences from neutral night elves, Moon Worship became more prominent, but Sun worship still existed.

I’m okay with there not being Sunwalkers pre-cataclysm, because the Sunwalkers were established during Cata, but Tauren really should have priests though. We already have Tauren priest NPCs in the game, they just go by the title of Seers.

If Undead can be priests, why cant Tauren. :frowning:

This is a quality opinion.

I mean, I followed it up with the reasoning the next line. :frowning:

Lore-wise it should have been a thing from the start. Further, Tauren only have 4 classes they can play in Classic. Which I believe is lower than every other race in the game.

Edit: Apparently gnomes have 4 classes as well. but who plays those! :stuck_out_tongue:

Have you seen current state of Retail? Blizz has no care for lore.

This is classic we are talking about, and even then, lore-wise. The Seers have existed since the beginning. They were gifted healers whom did not use druidic or Elemental arts.

They had other abilities too, but I’m mostly focusing on the fact they healed without Elemental or Druidic magic.

Yeah but we not talking about retail are we

Exactly. Tauren priests exist in retail, but not Vanilla.

Tauren priests look kinda lame honestly. They look much cooler in plate, mail, and leather

Lore-wise they have existed since well before Cataclysm. They were only just made a playable class/combo in Cataclysm, despite them being around longer than that.

You also have to realize that they had to cut a lot of content before dealing vanilla. They cut outlands, an emerald dream area, and I’m sure a bunch of other stuff. So if ya want a reason, that’s the best one.

Absolutely not. This is one of many terrible LOL LORE LOL changes.

Tauren do not need to be every tank and every healer.

Ah TBH, don’t make a difference if they added them IMO.

Was just channeling the #nochanges.

So long as Alliance keep Paladins that’s all I care about.

What in the world are you talking about?

Tauren Priests, Seers, have been in the game since Vanilla.

You cannot go “one of the many terrible lol lore lol changes” when you apparently are ignorant to the fact it’s been in since the beginning.

It’s been part of Tauren culture for far longer than they knew the Night Elves.

Good idea. For a design for the class, we’d need to look at the Priestess of the Moon from WC3:

Animal Companion
Ranged Attacks
Even More Ranged Attacks

If only there were a class like that . . .

As much as I’d love to main a tauren spriest in Classic, the combination didn’t exist back then, thus it will never be a thing in Classic. I’m cool with playing my troll spriest, though; Shadowguard has amazing synergy with so many Shadow talents it’s unreal. Great spell.

Yeah, but I don’t want to play a Troll Priest, or an Undead Priest.

Tauren priests should have been a thing from the start. And with Tauren only having 4 classes, it feels like something was cut when it shouldn’t have been.

Tauren priests make more sense than tauren druids if we’re looking at this purely from a lore perspective. So yeah, sounds about right.

You ever heard of rabdargab?

Pay very careful attention to what you’re about to read below.

When you make any change to Classic… it no longer remains Classic. Instead, the game changes into something else entirely different. The minute you add or remove any feature into Classic, it does not matter what it is; be it a voting system, gate, dungeon maps, ability to link items in local chat, guild banks, class balance, addition or removal of race/class, achievements, barber shop, XP for winning a battlground, dual spec, transmog, dungeon finder, flying, etc then you may as well be playing BfA. You are flat out asking Blizzard to remove from or add to Classic WoW.

If you modify one thing, to Classic then you may as well modify everything else and call it BfA. It’s simply not fair to add to or remove one feature, no matter how small you or anyone else think it is, and deny all other features.

For those who want to argue slippery slope: There is no “slippery slope” about it. No, things do not have to change (and they never will either).

J. Allen Brack said that Blizzard will make Classic as it was and thus creating an authentic experience for the players. You want changes? BfA is --------------> that way.

https://www.pcgamer.com/world-of-warcrafts-game-director-on-why-classic-isnt-just-a-flash-in-the-pan/

Quote from Ion Hazzikostas: Just as importantly, Hazzikostas says, is that Classic “is what it is” and that players have to take “the bad with the good”—even if that means missing a boat because a priest mind controlled you. “There is no lobbying the developer to change that because the game is what it was in 2005,” he adds. “It has to be accepted, which then frees everybody to find all the positive aspects, all the upsides of that friction and those inconveniences because there’s a certain acceptance of the downsides.”

For those who say “Ion is not gospel”. Let me ask you a question. When a Police Officer arrests you for impersonation of a Police Officer, are you going to tell the judge, “The police officer is not gospel.”? No. Of course not. And why not? Because you’re going to make yourself look extremely very silly. The quoted information came from two C-Level Blizzard employees and you’re going to tell everyone else that it is “not gospel”?

Good luck.

And, if you’re going to link the definition of “slippery slope”, be it from wikipedia or other source: let me just stop you yet again because this is what you look like: “I know the definition of slippery slope, therefore I’m going to shoehorn it into my argument and hope nobody notices I’m wrong.

You are flat out ignoring what Blizzard said because you disagree with #nochanges. You might even be tempted to name call the nochanges crowd “stupid” or “dumb”. You can argue “but…but muh layering” or “but…but muh in-game clock” all you like until you’re blue in the face. It does not change the fact that your changes are not going to happen. Full stop. Which part of there is no lobbying the developer to change that because the game is what it was in 2005 did you not understand?

Like I said before, you want your changes made to Classic WoW? ----------------> BfA is waiting for you. All of your changes are already in BfA. Have fun.

No.
