I’ve encountered some interesting things that give some nice flavour to the city. A preface: the only aggressive NPCs there are angry prelates/Gonk/Paku NPCs. With that being said, in the Terrace of the Chosen there are:
- sethrak priests of Sethraliss
- tortollan “follower” of Torga
- lots of Torcali priests, guards and worshippers
- many Zandalari priests of non-primary Zandalari loa: Hethiss, Har’koa, Shirvallah, Bethekk
- a priest of Zanza!
- a Livid Priest of Hir’eek, whom you can’t kill, but has some cool dialogue
^ All of the above (minus the Torcali followers) are present in the hall of lesser loa, unsurprisingly. I’m sure there are lots more that can spawn. Interestingly, the main three in the hall of lesser loa that are protesting/looking to start a scuffle are the priest of Sethraliss, Gral and Shirvallah. The Shirvallan priestess roars sometimes, as well.
-
in the Hall of Shadra, Acolyte Mali (the Shadric priestess who gives you the quest to stop Vol’kaal and Yazma) is present, and is killable towards the quest (“angered faithful subdued/killed”). Guess that’s it for Shadra’s worship.
-
in the hall of the high priests, Jin’alun and a Lun’alai druid are present
-
in the final stretch of the quests, where you get some of the loa’s blessings (Pa’ku, Gonk, Krag’wa and Bwonsamdi) there are all of the other prime Zandalari loa present in a spectral form: Torcali (she is very, very big), Jani, Kumbul, Gral, Akunda, Sethraliss and who I can only assume is Zanza

What does the Hir’eek priest say? I already finished the quest so can’t check.
It is: https://ptr.wowhead.com/npc=148365/zanza
I wish he’d been in BfA since the start since he was important back in vanilla, but better late than never I suppose.
Finally! Zanza! The one loa I wanted to actually see on Zandalar! Though small as it is, it’s nice to see him in a bit more important role than a ‘lesser loa’ how insulting.
New model too. Hmm. Looks exactly like a Zandalari instead of a bandaged one. Wonder if he’s like an ascended troll or something.
Honestly I would’ve had Zanza be the first troll king instead of Dazar but too late for that.

He’s actually still bandaged. You can’t tell under the blue glow in-game, but if you view his model on the wowhead link I posted the wrappings are still there.
So he is, I just didn’t recongise it because the Zandalari bandages aren’t as obvious as the jungle troll version.
Clearly he’s the Loa of First Aid and Bandages.

Vol’jin appears twice during the Zandalari unlock scenario.
His first appearance is when Talanji and Bwonsamdi discuss the deal. He sits in the corner, and then after Talanji refuses (and walks past him) he bows, before disappearing in a swirl of purple energy.
His second appearance is when Talanji and Sylvanas are discussing the Zandalari joining the Horde. He watches from the far side of the throne area, also sitting. I didn’t see what he does when he disappears.

Has a few lines about how the White Widow foresaw doom, that her way is correct, etc. There’s a funny one, he says something along the lines of “will the capital be moved to the Necropolis now? Bah!”, < is deep in prayer>, “I will not worship death”, one making mention about not worshipping death again but also mentioning Hir’eek’s death, and I think that was it. I was going to post all the dialogue, but I thought it may have been a bit much lol
Shame there is no secret Hakkar people about.

Majority of the followers of Hakkar in Zandalar (blood trolls) switched to G’huun.
Nobody loves Hakkar!
Can’t wait to see Alliance still try to spin Sethrak into being an Alliance Allied Race after this LUL.

Some other things of note:
Kiro and Nisha are standing in the crowd when the parade marches through to the temple. After the attack, Kiro is talking with Tortollans while Nisha wields her blades, watching his back.
Also, the Drakkari(Can’t recall name) Speaker and Ik’nal, the Shadowtooth speaker were present. Thus are still alive, despite a few people claiming they died in a WQ.

Something I noticed is that the loa turned their heads toward you as you ascended Zanchul. Like, they weren’t watching Talanji, their gaze was specifically on you. Maybe they were just studying you since they knew you were trying to recruit the Zandalari, but it was an interesting touch.
Pay close attention to Torcali, Akunda, Sethraliss and Zanza(?) and you’ll see it.

Jani is also present in spectral form. I liked that.
Also he has some kind priest/rogue in a corner of the temple’s main floor. Thought that was neat.
Oh! We also learn why Torcali isn’t seen in physical form-Turns out she’s actually the entire island according to her priest. Possibly maybe in a metaphorical kind of way.
I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who thought that was Zanza! Those priests you could see normally in the hall of lesser loa even before the quest but it is a very cool touch. I wish the other loa had some shrines in the city or continent even if they didnt get any story development or screen time. Just having them their would’ve been cool. I love finding Vol’jin just watching everywhere. His quest line has been my favorite this whole xpac

Nah, that’s just the big lad saying all of her “attributes”, if you will. She’s somewhere, we just haven’t seen her yet.
Also she’s a bloody big gurl.
Of course if she is Zandalar in the same way Shen-zin Su is the Wandering Isle then Zandalar not sinking is no surprise since the crack in the ground is nothing but her shifting her weight to get more comfortable.
Of course that means the Titans buried an artificial Void-aligned Bleeding Tooth Fungus Sporemound/Old God in the back of a giant Direhorn in order to test how World Soul corruption works using a massive Loa… They were already known to experiment on Loa using G’huun so no surprise there.
