Lore speculation for next xpacs

I’m going to preface this by stating this is all speculation.

Okay, rough outline:

  • What if this xpac ends with the world being plunged into darkness and makes it look like it’s always “Midnight” for the start of the next xpac.

  • Turalyon calls upon the light and summons Yrel and Exarch Hellscream (AU Garrosh) and their army of light from Dreanor to help fight.

  • Then the Nathrezim capture Lothraxion from Turalyon and Yrel’s ranks.

  • They force him to remove the light seal from Remornia releasing Sire Denathrius.

  • (Insert SL retcon ties here)

  • While Malfurion switched places with Ysera for like 4 patches, he astral projected and spoke to Illidan who was still fighting Sargeras, told him all about what had happend in SL with Sire D, Jailer, the Nathrezim, everything.

  • Illidan tells this to Sargeras who then stops fighting upon learning he was manipulated by Sire D and the Jailer all along.

  • They both just brood up there plotting revenge until Illidan senses Lothraxion breaking the light seal on Remornia and he uses his trinket to bring the red star A LOT closer to azeroth so he and Sargeras can join the fight.

Something to that effect.

I know it’s already better than Alex and Danuser’s writing, but still just speculation.
Let’s hear your theories and thoughts!

Or what if evil is vanquished and we all live peaceful lives raising chickens and growing crops and gather with our friends for fishing raids…

ALL of Shadowlands and how it still functions was Titan-designed and we’re going to awaken Azeroth to fight the weaker Titans. Defeating them will return the afterlife to what it was before their influence.

My only predictions are:
Halduron Brightwing dies.
Vereesa Windrunner becomes ranger-general of silvermoon.

I think Lor’themar would rather pick someone that wasn’t MIA the last 20 odd years.

I don’t. Given that Midnight is meant to be about the elves reuniting, and the Windrunner family’s history within the farstriders, I think she’d be a perfect appointee to the position. A symbol of reunification. Plus, 20 years isn’t as significant for a race that lives for thousands. It’s like someone taking a week off work.

Being MIA in their time of need though is quite the black mark.

While the city lies in ruin overrun by undead, she was off frolicking somewhere with her human boyfriend.

Frankly, even BE players have more claim to the title that her. At least we were around.
