I wanna write WoW stories, need a baseline summary and cannon to use for proper references. Where’s my super reference book source for this?
You might be looking for the World of Warcraft Chronicle books.
Those are a good reference, but also Wowpedia is a decent resource for lore and they keep it up to date when the lore changes or is updated. Sometimes the canonized lore is recontextualized. Hope that helps.
Whoa, no need to bring out the artillery. We’ll help you find some resources. Stay calm.
WoW Chronicle books that were de-canonized before they even finished printing them.
There is no official encyclopedia.
Books like the chronicles would likely be a good start, the rest would come likely from playing the game and reading lore articles on say wowwiki
Chronicles started off as a good idea, but now that its already considered non-canon by the new books. Just don’t bother. WoW’s lore is worse than trying to understand Games Workshop’s codex balancing.
Don’t worry about it, they change the lore at the drop of a hat anyways.
This book is great…" World of Warcraft: Ultimate Visual Guide, Updated and Expanded" and full of lore/info.
They don’t have one. The Chronicles have already been retconned and recontextualized to the point where the lore is a steaming pile of “from a certain point of view” and there is no canon.
sad and true I think
Wowpedia
WowWiki is defunct
