Hi,
I am creating a human mage to rp with and I want to rp her as a Kirin Tor member tasked with capturing or tracking outlawed or rogue mages/warlocks or in general working for magic regulation and law enforcement.
What would someone in this role be called? An inquisitor? An auror? What are some general lore tips or notes for creating such a character? Anyone else out there who RPs as a similar sort of character?
Probably want to keep it to an investigative role since you won’t have any actual authority.
There are absolutely magic cops based around the Violet Hold in Dalaran but I’d maybe look into the Violet Eye. While initially established to spy on Medivh and look after Karazhan I don’t see why you couldn’t suggest they keep watch over other ill willed magic users.
Off the top of my head I can’t recall an npc presented as holding the role described so I imagine the particular name would be up to you. I would check to confirm but at time of writing I am very tired. I’ll probably end up looking into it tomorrow however.
I can say that Inquisitor, as a title, has often been associated with religious agents. That is of course not to imply that the title is or should be exclusive to that, but I thought it was worth mentioning regardless.

Good idea, that’s more what I am looking for. Don’t want a bossy toon, just ant one that works for the Kirin Tor and helps track rogue mages or misusers.

There really aren’t any. To tell the truth, what they remind me with are those red robed dudes that Palapatine or Snoke would surround himself with.
