- The Centaur from Zaetar and Theradras is reconned into a “rebirth of their ancient race.”
** Note: It is not established who fathered the original Centaur we encounter in Dragonflight. - The Life Pools are infused with Azeroth’s Lifeblood.
- The very first Dream Portal was forged within the Ohn’ahran Plains.
- As the Black Dragonflight reshaped the lands for the dragons, they disturbed many of the magma-filled caves that the Djaradin lived in.
- While a fierce enemy of all dragons, the Djaradin took particular delight in hunting the black dragonflight.
- The Drakonid were once Tarasek, elevated by the Aspects in the same way as the Aspects and dragons themselves were.
- The Dracthyr being Neltharion’s Secret, is once again mentioned.
We’re really supposed to just accept that not only was a race biologically identical to an already existing one born completely separate from it, but that they also both completely independently developed a Mongolian-inspired culture?
This would be so much easier if they either a) changed when Zaetar and Theradras got together or b) changed when the centaur arrived on the isles.
The tales of the Kalimdor Centaur aren’t a scientifically documented treatise but legends.
Legends seldom tell a complete AND accurate story.
The same goes for what’s presented in that book.
Interesting stuff, but I have a pretty bad feeling that a lot of this Djaradin/Tarasek/Drakonid stuff is just going to result in the same old ‘Were the Dragons evil all along?’ threads that’ll no doubt be repeated all expansion long.
Cenarius’s Dryad Children were born from Acorns so the same should be how the original Centaur were born.
Ohn’ahran Plains is the original home of Cenarius’s adoptive mother Ysera so it should make sense for her to make playmates for Cenarius.
The Stag Horns provided he wasn’t born with them would eventually come to Cenarius later the same way they did for Malfurion.
When Dragons see good, they see it from a draconic perspective. Which means not necessarily the same way that mortals do.

Honestly I’m just damn sick of ‘perspective’. It has lead to so much being retconned - yes, retconned - because they’ve changed their mind where the story wants to go. The fact that you are most of the time spending some pretty serious money (Chronicles, bloody well looking at you) on books that are later invalidated in some way because ‘lolz the <insert race/faction/whatever authors it> are writing from their perspective! it’s going to be biased!’ no. That is catastrophically awful.
They were legends but when Zaetar himself says he fathered the Centaur with Theradras, it is no longer mere “legends”.

inb4 it was Cenarius and Therazane that made the original centaur.
Because why not. How could it happen when Therazane was trapped in Deepholm long before Cenarius was even born? I’m sure Blizzard will find a half-assed way to make it happen. If Ragnaros could make it back to Azeroth via 8 dwarfs getting in way over their head…
