Lord of The Reins needs to be Account Wide. Not per character

Who sat there and thought it would be a good idea to make the Lord of the Reins achievement be specific to one character? I have 300 mounts. But then I look at the cheevo and it says 262/300. This is just stupid. Even more odd is that it says “any member of your warband can contribute to this achievement”…apparently except the 30+ other mounts that I have that don’t count because reasons.

Just had to complain. It’s genuinely just a bad decision to lock a mount achievement behind a specific character, when we can just use virtually any mount on any character…waaahhggghh, and reeeee, and QQ.

Pretty sure those are faction specific mounts. Yes, technically you “own them” but they’re just opposite sides of your horde Mounts.

yeah. for me personally, its more class specific mounts lol.

It goes to the character with the most mounts.

Pally or DK, usually. They get some extras.

For a cheese, make one character of the above for the other faction and log in. You’ll get the mounts already unlocked for them straight away, upping your total on one character if faction-specific stuff is the hiccup.

Unless you’re trying to get faction-specific mounts to count twice, that’s on you.

It has to be useable mounts but I agree.
If I spent time unlocking the Mage Class mount, it should be a +1 credit to my total mount collection on the achievement even if I’m logged on my Hunter.

It’s been this way forever. Old logic. Hopefully they manually change it but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

Doesn’t it say “Obtain 300 mounts (usable by a single character)”?

Mounts from other classes and the opposing faction don’t count. Just track it on a Paladin. They have the most available amounts out of any class. Compared to say Druids which have no class mounts that count.

It sounds like you need to collect more mounts.

I always thought Lock did. Five horses.
I guess I didn’t realize Paladin got 4 from Legion alone.
Greedy Paladins.

Granted all Paladin mounts don’t count for a single character but…

It just goes to whichever character can use the most mounts that you have.

You don’t get equivalents tho, afaik.
You’re spending as much time getting different faction mounts (if not more) than some other mounts.
I can understand them not counting double for when you do get opposites (like current pre patch mounts), but a bit silly to compare for cases where you don’t.

I wanted to add a couple things here.

All class hall mounts count toward your total mount count, even the druid flight form. However, the single mounts with different colors only count as 1 mount. So the 4 paladin ones will up your total count by 4, but the 3 colors for the shaman mount will only up your count by 1.

The race/class with the most personal mounts is Lightforged Draenei paladin. They get both human mounts, both Draenei mounts, a LF Draenei mount, the Argent tournament charger and the 4 class hall mounts, for a total of 6 personal and 10 total paladin mounts.

When you read through the Paladin mounts, most of those are locked to specific races. So, a Blood Elf Paladin will not be able to use the Tauren Paladin Mounts, and won’t count towards the achievements.

I have enough mounts to automatically learn what ever the next collection mount is

We are not the same

The achievement should only ever be for most mounts usable by one character.

Mutually exclusive mounts shouldn’t be included (e.g. faction) the same way exalted reps won’t count mutually exclusive reps (aldor/scryer)

Achievement specifies “usable by a single character”
When it says your warband can contribute it means you don’t need to learn the mounts on a specific character (you used to have to do this)

I think I said that. They still have more mounts per class (7, I think) than any other.

The achievement is account wide.
