I’ve been looking through the forums about how to get the phasing for Lord Kazzak to work properly, and all the solutions that have been said do no work.
I tried doing both blasted lands timelines, both with warmode on and off.
I already unlock the allied race orc, so I couldn’t finished that quest even if i wanted to.
is there any new tips for this problem that may of been added since last year? It worked fine last year and i’ve only stated playing again since the emerald dream patch and have not done any quests out side of dragonflight.
From what I’ve surmised (for me specifically), when Darkmoon Faire was around and they gave us Locks the quest chain to unlock new imp appearances, I never finished the quest and abandoned it fully. Unfortunately, the penultimate quest in the chain takes place right where Kazzak spawns (near the altar, you might see an NPC named Madam Shadow), and even though Darkmoon Faire isn’t happening right now, AND I abandoned the quest months ago, it still has me phased to it.
More brilliance from Blizzard. Overlapping phases for one event that is timed, and another event that only comes about once a month.
I’ve been looking on the forums and Reddit (since I couldn’t care less about the Darkmoon Faire or the imps, but I do want to kill Kazzak), and the only reasonable suggestion seems to be wait until the Darkmoon Faire comes back at the start of December and try to finish everything then.
Granted, having abandoned the quest, I don’t know exactly what that would look like (and I don’t want to go through it again), but other posts concerning it have said that Blizz Support can’t do anything themselves because it’s an outright bug. I’ve tried everything, even deleting the Cache folder, to no avail.
Of course, it’s obvious this issue is low on Blizz’s priority list, because other Warlocks (leaving aside our Kazzak issue) have made reports about being locked to the Warlock-specific Darkmoon Faire instance and not being able to go to the normal one for months, so I doubt they’re worried about this issue which is admittedly rare.
That being said, they deserve all of the admonishment for putting in a questline that locks you into a specific phase in multiple areas (Darkmoon Faire, The Tainted Scar, etc.), that can’t be resolved by simply abandoning the quest, especially when it’s tied to a seasonal event that comes around once a month.
For everyone wondering, this phasing issue is from a quest you get a level 30 from a letter.
If you abandon the quest after you’ve already been to the darkmoonfaire there’s a carriage near the warlock trainer (near the ragefire chasm isntance for horde, not sure about alliance) that will take you back to the darkmoon faire to complete the quest.
After doing the quest line Lord Kazzak will appear normally
Any chance we can get some help with this? I abandoned the quest. I’ve gone to all of the warlock trainers in Elywnn and can find no way to get the quest again. Can’t do Lord Kazzak normally (dive bomb him and try to tag him before you phase). There’s no way to get in game help anymore. Does Blizzard have someone who can help with this?
You need to figure out the quest you abandoned and go get it again. This is the list of all the quests in the storyline and each individual quest page will have a script to see if the quest is completed. Find the one you haven’t done, start up again and finish the questline.
Thank you for this! My lock was phase-locked to the darkmoon chain even though I had abandoned it. Couldn’t target Kazzak for anniversary quest without standing just out of the battle area and sending a pet to tag.
If you have abandoned the quest line and you’re Alliance, you can get back to the warlock-only Faire by finding Madam Shadow’s carriage in the Mage Quarter of Stormwind. You can resume the quest line there (I recommend turning on low-level quest tracking).
