hi, so my shaman is now on its 30th throne of the tides run, and ive been starting to ask myself, why exactly do we need all of those 9 items on the loottable in that dungeon? why is it completely out of my control when i get the item i want, why does the chance for me to get this item need to be this low, for me to be required to run it 30 times without even getting it yet? i could go on for 50 more runs and not see it. I think mythic plus as a source of technically infinite gear is horrible and especially so, when there are more than 5 items on the loottable for your spec. im not only rolling the dice on if i get loot at all from the dungeon, but im also rolling one out of nine items to be dropped in my inventory, and there is no way for me to know when the grind is going to be over, or if its even going to be at all. please, all i am asking for is not even a currency to buy specific mythic plus dungeon items, but atleast stop putting this many items into a single dungeon. we dont need 5 different dungeon staves, we dont need 4 different mail boots, we dont need 8 different cloaks, when all of those slots also exist from other sources. i do not feel like my time in this game is being valued, because whenever i am not running throne of the tides, i am not rolling dice on getting my bis trinket. but whenever i am running it, i am rolling the dice and i will never know if i even get it at all. i have spent around 25 hours of my time in this dungeon, and i havent gotten a reward for it besides crests. please respect my time in-game and make these mindless trinket grinds more enjoyable by introducing some kind of âend of the roadâ feeling, incase you arent the lucky person getting what you want on your third run and goin âfinallyâ.
With many different sources of gearing and loot scarcity in Dragonflight, targeting your absolute Best in Slot gear isnât entirely realistic;

Youâll save yourself a lot of time and mental sanity by just doing different dungeons and getting a #2 or a #3 BiS item rather than chasing a certain item.
Youâre only hurting your gaming experience.
Alright maâam as i post this I read like the first sentence and half before going to replying. Please seperate your wall of paragraphs so it will be easier to read and understand. On top of that being able to just pick your loot and only do runs one time would be⊠boring and bland in a way of there is no pumping moment when you get said loot drop. It will be just like a chore and no reason to do the content again.
However I do agree that there needs to be a great bad luck protection in place, and as I have advocated many times, I believe a justice / valor system in place would be a great thing for this game. Do so many runs and be able to buy specific items that you require from the seasons content.
why does it have to be like that though? just because it is like that, doesnt mean that it should be.
Because youâre not meant to chase BiS for every slot.
as far as i know, mmorpgs are made to progress your character. idk what game youre playing.
Thereâs a difference between progressing your character and chasing BiS til your eyes bleed.
Use some common sense.
I mean. Itâs kind of the nature of rng. And the price we pay for chasing down top BiS in every slot. Sometimes we have to be okay with not having bis or not expecting it, and just doing the content. If it drops? Happy accident. If it donât, meh.
Seeing all those fat crit numbers is way too much fun. Unfortunately ilvl is king and you take the chances you get.
kay guys, got it on run 31 i only wrote this so blizz would stealth luck buff my account to keep me subbed have a good one
They were âthatâs all you had to sayâ.
Good work on the farm and finally getting it.
Sounds like the way you are playing the game isnât very fun for you. Did something amazing happen now that you got your one drop? Are you just going to start running a different dungeon 30+ times for the next bis item? What happens after you get them all, do you just quit then? And if so, do you quit feeling satisfied and accomplished?
Donât try to target loot in M+ unless youâre running with people who can and will trade it to you.
Also, press the Enter key once in a while.
Both things will make your life a lot less stressful.
Now you gotta hide before Blizz notices and nerfs it so you have to start all over again.
For armor and weapons you donât NEED your BiS items to be competitive, there are plenty of alternatives available and the performance difference is negligible. Itâs a bit of a different story when it comes to jewelry and trinkets (especially trinkets), but you can still get by with other items. BiS is a long term goal for the season, not something you can expect to have week 3.
i raid mythic and i like not trolling my team by running a 424 ominous chromatic essence hope this helps
I have a friend whoâs at Challenger (pretty high rank) in league and sometimes it just straight up feels like he âhate playsâ the game, but itâs not true he just is after that goal of being a great challenger player. I think for players that do high end content it can be a similar feeling, feels good to succeed in getting an accomplishment but bad at times what you gotta do to get high item level for it.
I agree that you could use a different item, but if itâs BiS on a Myth track youâve got an item that you know will last you the season.
