I’ve ran BFD almost everylockout. I even made alts and run on them as well. I STILL haven’t seen the purple Xbow drop on ANY of my characters.
How are you supposed to get the loot you want or need in the current system? It’s atrocious. Not only will you have to get super lucky that something drops but you also have to roll higher than everyone else and their moms that wants it too. Even if you’re running on alts, you have to pray the loot that you wanted on your main doesn’t drop. I’ve seen the epic 2H drop a couple times but never on my warrior. How about loot binding to account or something?? Also make loot more accesible so you don’t have to fight so hard against everyone to get it?
I’m convinced my hunter will never see that xbow. No wonder we are seeing so many GDKPs, its the only way you can secure your tiny chance at getting what you need.
Something needs to change. If it stays like this there’s just no point in trying to get gear to do the rest of the fun stuff in the game. If anything is gonna make me unsub, it’s this.

Agreed. This pray to rng system is outdated and lame. With how many awful items they placed into the BFD loot table its no wonder you never see the items you want.

It’s a simple fix, just give out badges for each boss killed and you can use those badges to purchase relevant gear. This was done in BC and it worked great. The whole working your butt off only to leave it up to RNG is counterproductive and only exists to keeping the content fresh for a little longer.

I remember back in Vanilla where every single player had a thunderfury. That’s why it became such a famous item — because everyone had one! Good times.

Please no. One of my guildies has 4 warriors (he’s a very sweaty parse lord) and this would actually make it so insanely easy to gear up.
I mean, epic xbow should only be rolled out to hunters really. Just don’t bring another hunter. As far as other gear, you are more than able to make your own group and stack classes that don’t compete with you / people that have what you need already. Also use different loot systems versus just MS>OS.
I make it a rule not to listen to any hunter named bigppdps.

It’s possible that the types of changes you are asking for is what made a lot of people unsub from Retail, or at least contributed.

we have warriors and rogues with it… every hunter main and most hunter alts in the guild have it
That just illustrates how you can be so unluckly to not even see it once. Same goes for the staff, I have people in my guild who have never seen it either.
Its not fun when you go through the entire phase without seeing your BIS weapon because of a crap loot table.

Yeah, I’m in the same boat. Cleared every reset except one on Hunter, never seen bow. Cleared BFD twice on fire mage alt, I have epic staff. It feels bad on both.
It’s just the way RNG be though. Having everyone be guaranteed their BiS after so many runs is kinda boring
After you lose so many times you won’t want to participate any more.
The effect of what I’m feeling reminds me of a study I heard about with rats and how if 2 rats are fighting, when one keeps on losing it will no longer want to play anymore. It’ll only want to continue fighting against a stronger rat if they are winning at least something like ~30% of the time. But after making 4 different 25s and running BFD so many times, it feels like I’m not seeing any of the rewards from putting all my time into it. It’s got me pretty burnt out so I decided to unsub yesterday. That compounded to the constant barrage of nerfs to my favorite class, having to respec and relevel different pets every patch.
I’ll find something more productive to do with my time.
The loot tables are awful and bloated with garbage. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
For some reason people forget that this is a seasonal (TEMPORARY) game mode meant to be fun.

This is exactly what J. Allen Brack meant when he said “You think you do, but you don’t”. You actually can’t handle how things used to be 20 years ago in MMOs.
This iteration of World of Warcraft is a gameplay option to experience and deal with how things used to be (with a twist of runes this time). Not how things commonly are found now in modern mmo games.
I would honestly unsub if I were you. You just can’t take how things used to be. You have a need of having a safety net to make sure you receive every item you want to get. That isn’t going to happen in a classic version of this game.
This is why there needs to be full, blue pvp sets with weapons in each of the coming phases.
I haven’t seen the staff drop once and I haven’t missed a lockout.
That would make the problem worse not better.
Then not only would you need to get the item to Drop but also roll against all 9 other people who will be rolling because their alt can use it and it is just a Pug.
Right now you only have to roll against people who can actually use the item (and I suppose trolls as well but those people should be sanctioned by the raid leader and their rolls discarded if you are doing ML)
