Loot system NEEDING is being Abused!

That is a long essay of a first post that I am not going to read but it wouldn’t be fair to restrict drops to players with low item levels when everyone is participating. You think everyone came to the raid to get you gear?

Problem is tweaking the heuristic from the one they currently use has the potential to create a false positive, and block people from rolling on an upgrade. The current version was picked because it reduces the chance of a false positive to 0.

Evidently, yes. Most of the threads whining about GL are really just people who expect every pug to be a loot funnel carry raid for the OP.

most of them are probably made by people who, in the days of personal loot, were wagging their fingers at others for not giving away their drops.

Define better.

Better to sell? Better transmog? Better loot for a friend? Better item level? Stat distribution? Should the raid sim all the characters when the loot drops so it goes to lowest geared person there?

Kill boss. Get loot. Do with the loot what you want. That’s the best, fairest way to distribute loot in pugs. If you want to create a moral code for loot distribution, make a guild. That’s what it’s for.

Probably the same people who would either open trade with anyone who got loot and expect you to give it to them, or would run that add-on to harass people who got loot to try and get them to give it away.

What? I put a :stuck_out_tongue: to let you know i was kidding.
ooh sorry, Didnt know you were so senstive about your eliteness…

Anywhooz i didnt know they changed the forums to remove “View Profile” from the first click on a portrait. figured you were one of those
“Oh no i dont want anyone to see my gear/achivements” people.

I would just keep a set of random WQ gear to DE if someone did that.

Then we get a rerun of the time the implemented personal loot and people flipped their wigs.

Besides, losing a roll isn’t abuse.

Ah i see. But if a 2h agi sword dropped they could?

You “needed” to post this about for the same reason that folks roll “need” on loot.

You’re not gonna win them all lol

Just gotta accept the dice sometimes

I don’t think any of those exist in the current game (maybe they exist as a green). 2H agi axe a survival could roll on (but again, I think those only exist in crafting).

Yup the system is very clear in why the rolls exist. But wow players do not care about other people and thus have proven that blizz needs to be stricter on enforcing these rolls.

Why do the diff options even exist if people can cheese it and roll need on stuff they intend to transmog(transmog roll) or vendor/disenchant(greed roll)

If people are not forced to roll these in the applicable situations either remove them and just have a normal roll or find a way to better enforce the proper use case of this system.

How about no. Everyone in raid help kill the boss… Yes even those the die within 10sec of a boss fight or do 20k overall Dps.

Everyone should get to roll need for what reason they come up with. Heck I roll need just coz I can. What are going to do? I am sure is much more beneficial to the raid if I bring my 484+ gear to raid than my 424 ilvl alt to the raid.

Finally, the 1st legit complaint in the complaint thread.

for reals?

no.

this isn’t about morals, it’s about your feelings.

The rolls have very clear purposes. People rolling outside of that purpose know what they are doing.

“Were they there? Then it’s fair game” is a common mindset and entirely the reason Need Before Greed doesn’t work in modern WoW, even ignoring the Transmog Issue (which Blizzard could easily fix and 100% should). Just bring back Personal Loot for all queued content. Let premades and organized groups run with actual rolling if they want to.
