I quit raiding when they changed the loot drop rate back in SL and when they came out with this god aweful vault. I been trying to get back into raiding and pve content but EVRY SINGLE DROP is stats i dont want or need. Im just curious how often this happens to everyone else.
Its not RNG so please dont respond with that. rng still needs a data table to refer to and i wanna understand why every single loot drop i get is crit haste, or crit vers.
I have looted 36 pieces of pve gear this season and every single one was crit haste., my spec favors haste/mastery
This even happens with PvP great vault options, all crit vers instead of haste vers.
Does this happen to anyone else?
When i play my hunter alt i get everything i need right away, including correct stats and 4 pieces of tier, weapons… EVERYTHING. But on this lock i cant make any progress and its pretty stressful
Stats aren’t generated on the fly, the items are created with set stats. So ask the devs why so much cloth (if you meant drops on the character you posted on) has crit/haste, not players.
In PVE content, the gear your receive is driven by RNG. Each specific raid boss/M+ dungeon drops specific items with set stats, you are just not receiving the items that have your desired stats.
I do think Blizzard needs to do better on this in general. Crafting shores up a lot of these issues, but I shouldn’t HAVE to craft a ring on my guardian druid because there is only 1 haste+vers ring in m+, but 3 crit+haste rings.
Hey, at least you have 1.
You need to farm specific items if you are looking for stats. Use shift J and go to raid or dungeon on the right side there should be a loot tab, browse through it to find what you should be farming each week.
Alternatively google the specs BiS and go the icyveins or wowhead site. For example here is the Bear BiS list. Make sure to also check MurlocIO as sometimes they have it wrong or the top players are running different builds and gear because of specific needs. In this case Bears are often running mastery instead of Vers. I opted for a balance between the two.
Than grind to your hearts content. Remember that outside of trinkets, rings and the neck ilvl is usually worth more than stats and with the upgrade system you don’t loose anything by upgrading a poorly itemized item. When you finally get your BiS item you can max it out immediately for free if you already maxed out the bad item.
Hope that helps.
Moo!
It is RNG. You’re also not taking advantage of the biggest QOL gear acquisition this exp. CRAFTING. You could’ve crafted a 447 or max ilevel pvp gear every 2 weeks this patch (assuming you’re acquiring the appropriate crests) which you can control what stats you craft.
PVP gear will always have vers on it no matter what. Honestly you should’ve crafted PVE gear and just used conquest to get pvp gear.
RNG
I am pretty sure every stat combination is present on at least 1 ring in keys. Even stinky vers+mastery which is rarely sought after is on the brackenhide wedding band iirc.
I think the combinations of:
Haste+Mastery (a lot of casters)
Haste+Vers (a lot of tanks/some dps)
Haste+Crit (more dps)
Crit+Vers (typically energy dps)
Should be present SOMEWHERE in any given season for most slots. Yeah, if it isn’t on a low budget piece like wrists, no big deal you do get sparks for that, but some tier sets stats are beyond questionable still especially for classes with specs with very different stats.
Going back to the OP, frankly not a single piece of cloth should be high vers in any season. None of the cloth wearers seek that stat so why is it on anything?
Ok man, it’s not rng, someone inside blizzard is specifically assigned to you to give gear that you don’t want.
I quite remember there not being a haste/mastery ring anywhere in M+ S1. The only haste/mastery ring that season was the very rare one from broodkeeper.
A lot of crit/haste or crit/mastery however.
There are 3 this season. One from the 2nd boss mastery heavy. One from UR and one from NL. Though both from M+ are haste heavy.
You’re wearing a lot of PvP gear. Versatility is like…the main feature.
There’s plenty of haste/mastery gear out there, but they obviously have to vary the stat distribution because not every spec wants those stats.
If you really need a lot of a certain stat, craft rings or a necklace. That’s where you’re going to get a ton of secondaries.
Also, look at the catalyst. Even if you’re not getting the set bonus from boots/belt/cloak/wrist you can still put it in the catalyst to see what sort of stats it will spit out on the set piece.
The stats aren’t random.
Every dungeon and raid boss has a loot table you can view in the dungeon journal.
You can see which bosses drop the items with your preferred stats.
OP should just sim their character, probably use Droptimizer and see what’s best. Strictly adhering to haste/mastery or haste/vers isn’t necessarily the ideal situation.
Make a note of what offers the best upgrades, and chase those drops.
After a few of them have been achieved, resim to evaluate additional drops.
Repeat as needed.
I’ve given up trying to understand what raidbots wants me to do with stats.
Askmrrobot with reforge was a wild ride everytime I got a piece, just to make sure my hit rating was optimized as much as possible.
Bring back reforging!!!
I understand RNG for the loot table for that specific boss/dungeon. The fact that every piece of gear that drops is for a slot i already have tier on, and/or has unfavorable stats is not a mistake especially when there are actually other viable items on said loot table.
I been playing this game for 18 years and this change is VERY noticeable. Its like instead of making new fresh content that people actually ENJOY, they keep us busy farming stuff that is way harder to obtain.
If you are saying that you truly believe that RNG is RANDOM, then i guess i understand why you dont agree with me. You put too much trust into a corporate entity my friend.
Get crafted gear, you can put whatever stats on it you want.
For tier, every class has 5 possible slots, you deliberately skip the one with the worst stats (and put a crafted piece there, instead) and take the other 4.
