I play Affliction, I have always played Affliction & I now have/have always had, my loot spec set to Affliction.
But EVERY piece of gear I have (I’m 120 & 449ilvl) sims better as Demo or Destro.
Shouldn’t my gear be best for Aff??
Pawn shows that for ALL my gear Demo is best then Destro then AFF.
Anyone clarify why this is the case.
This is because that’s not how loot spec works. You will end up looting the same gear as a Warlock regardless of your loot spec because of the fact that loot spec only takes into account main stat and weapon proficiency.
For instance the only thing different that loot spec changes for Frost DKs and Unholy DKs can loot is their weapons. If your loot spec is in Unholy you will loot 2H weapons and if it’s in Frost you’ll loot 1H weapons.

Would like some more information. What are the stats on the gear you are getting? If it’s haste gear then that really is best for all 3 specs (more so Dest than Demo, but either/or). If it’s crit it should be more Dest but again Demo does benefit from crit for demon abilities. Mastery is more for Aff than Dest but Demo benefits a crapton from mastery as well since it boosts demon damage.
Any other clarity you can provide may help us nail the issue down.
I prioritize Mastery, then Haste then Crit.
As an example, Sea Giant’s Tidestone Trinket = Pawn 702.1 Aff, 838.4 Demo, 768.2 Destro
All my gear is rated the same with Affliction coming last of the 3.
It would seem I would have some gear that has a better Affliction rating then the other 2.
Kind of stemming off what I had said earlier - while haste is good for aff it’s just better for dest and demo. Especially burst haste as that helps dest pump out more chaos bolts provided the shards are there for them and demo has the imps which cast faster. Aff + haste isn’t bad by any stretch it’s just not as good as it is for the other two specs. Ideally for aff you want to prioritize Mastery and Intellect. As an example you would find more benefit of Int burst trinkets like Balefire Branch which does far more for aff than it does for destr or demo.
I understand what your are saying. But my point is I have Mastery gear, Haste gear, & Crit gear. Not 1 piece sims higher then Demo or Destro.
I am not talking about the total’s ( although I think I should average higher in my spec)

I suppose my question then pivots to - what type of sims are you running? If it’s the dungeon slice sim from SIMC then dest and demo will always beat aff as those are 3-min burst fights which both those specs can do crazy burst dps and aff just can’t do that at all unless there is a very creative mix and use of traits and essences that are meant for burst dps.
Perhaps if you do a different sim or one that has many more iterations on a longer fight (5 - 7 min, prob more) and you may see better sim results though again it just depends on the fight. Unfortunately with Dest / Aff being based around a 2 - 3 min cd and dest actually having other things to prioritize target+ fast target swap (RIP Soul Swap for aff) aff will always fall short. On Boss fight sims Aff may come out ahead but the minute there are 2 - 3 short lived adds that dest can take advantage of with havoc and the flashpoint azerite trait which will naturally give them the edge. Demo with Tyrant and VoP essence makes things goofy af and with creative use of it can do some serious burst as well. Aff has not had a decent burst capability since Legion with the artifact weapon trait and since has been gutted to not fill that role.
