I think the reason they don’t do this is to “encourage” people into doing modes like LFR for gear/ transmog. While it does inconvenience people doing higher level content it really does help people doing LFR. Disabling the inspect feature would help with the people complaining about losing gear to higher ilvl people.

They would just compare HP, or post damage meters, or a thousand other things. Once someone is determined to be the victim, they’ll find a way.
They need to just put LFR back on personal loot. WoW’s playerbase has proven that they can’t psychologically handle having to click the dice themselves and then lose, the system has to do it for them.

It’s a nice thought, but your HP gives you away as well. “That 1100k health hunter is obviously over 500ilvl needed on the bis bow”.
If I can roll need, and I don’t have the mog, I’m a hit the button and literally roll the dice like everyone else.
In my opinion, I think they could do an AI Raid assist mode and have it not hurt LFR’s value.
They could still keep LFR with it’s own unique raid color and gear, and have it be a big experience for people.
While maybe adding in a 7th color variant of the raid look, calling the the Follower Color, and then just letting that drop from the AI raid, or giving it to players who complete it either as a full gear set or just a cosmetic one.
They could even allow the AI raid to scale, so you could bring some friends if you wanted to do it with one or two people for the story.

They should just make it against the rules to complain about not getting loot, that way we can just ban the people that complain and then they won’t be able to get their feelings hurt anymore.
I may be radical and unhinged at times myself.
But like, banning someone for complaining seems way to over the top and dictator like.
People are gonna complain about something always, it’s human nature.
