Loot is completely broken in BfD

Loot is a major issue in phase 1 of BfD. Horde has an abundance of leather classes during this phase, with Shaman being available and leather only during the phase, and without Paladin only warriors to wear mail. It’s infeasible to bring more than 2-3 warriors, so every lockout the warriors in my pugs get completely stacked, or by this point just pass gear for disenchant. Meanwhile the leather classes are hotly contested on everything and the drop rates on most of the “usable gear” are really low.

Mail drops on what seems to be EVERY SINGLE boss kill, while casters fight with healers for loot that seemingly never even drops. Leather melee dps have the same problem as casters, where every piece that drops is hotly contested but they also very rarely drop between the useless leather caster tier and the mail gear that won’t stop dropping.

This phase only lasts a couple months, I’ve been running BfD consistently on multiple characters and barely ever even see an item I can roll on. I think blizzard needs to either reconfigure drop rates so more in demand pieces drop and less garbage like defender’s girdle (which isn’t even a BoE anymore! Thanks for changing that right after I won the 10 way roll.) and more caster/agi leather gear drops; OR they should make the raid drop more items per boss. This isn’t UBRS where we can run it back as much as we want. This is a 45 minute raid that takes 3 DAYS to reset, and still barely drops a thing. Loot is EASILY the biggest problem in SoD so far. If you’re not getting funneled all the loot possible, you can run every single lockout (like me) and still have NO chance of being BiS by the time this phase ends if you’re a caster/agi dps.

That’s cool, but I have a Hunter that’s only missing 2 items and a Mage that’s only missing 3 items and a Holy Paladin that’s fully BiS.

Even without those things, I’m pretty sure I’ll be able to level to 40 just fine.

The biggest problem I have seen is the caster leather that everyone greed rolls and nobody ever wants.

Yeah the caster leather classes suck, every druid plays feral yet they still force that awful gear into the loot pool with the same drop rate as all the gear people actually care to get.

It’s just RNG. This character has seen a lot of mail dropping to the point it gets DEd. My Paladin hasn’t seen much drop at all. Everyone will have different outcomes.

You getting lucky on gear drops doesn’t invalidate my complaint at all.

You getting unlucky on gear drops doesn’t make it a problem.

I mean your right, but I don’t know the fix other than decreasing the loot pool.

Making more loot drop is a simple fix. This raid has a 3 day lockout and yet the loot drops like it’s UBRS.

My Druid hasn’t gotten loot for the last six lockouts and still no weapon. We’ve seen only cloth and mail drops. We saw Artemis Cowl once.

It does actually because i’m not “unlucky” i’m just having a much more representative experience than you. If enough loot dropped that you’re almost full BiS on two toons, AND you won the rolls for said loot, you’re either immensely lucky or funneling the loot to yourself through a guild. Most players who run BfD every week end up with nothing to show for it after each lockout. You’re completely out of touch.

Does running with the same people each week count as funneling? Yes, it’s true, I got like the 5th trinket and third cloth tier piece. We haven’t seen a ring or epic staff drop yet, but I think I’ll survive without the 12 spellpower I’m missing from those slots.

O_o Dude, you get at least 12 drops in a 10 man that resets every 3 days. That’s pretty good by raid standards. Also, UBRS isn’t an endgame raid.

Yeah…no, this is just false.

Do you mean loot pool, or more drops per boss? Cause I feel 2 drops per boss in a 10 man is more than fair.

How is it false when I haven’t received an upgrade in 3 lockouts in a row, and about half of my raid receives nothing each lockout? I talk to the people I run with and most players who aren’t leather casters/warriors have this exact same experience.

As you do the raid more times, there are less upgrades for you to get each run. I haven’t got an upgrade on my Holy Paladin in 4 lockouts, and you know what, I never will again… because I have all the items on my Paladin already.

Flipping a quarter 3 times and getting heads each time doesn’t mean that the quarter is broken. Your sample size is too small, you are just having bad luck.

More loot would be nice… the loot tables so large and not enough drops. I am a caster, have ran BFD maybe a dozen times already and have 1 piece… nearly every run is mail or leather gear or the useless pieces no class even wants to greed roll on. It’s at this point I’m thinking it’s a waste of time because by time I get gear it’ll be irrelevant with p2.

Yeah lets see you keep that same energy come 40, when alliance has two plate wearers and horde has 1.

Well nobody will ever have a sample size large enough for you, because the phase only lasts 2 months. I have run the raid 7/7 every single lockout since the very first, and still have only received 3 pieces from the raid. I create my own pugs and make sure the loot distribution is fair between cloth, leather, mail to ensure i’m not disadvantaged on getting loot. Do you REALLY think a player who has full cleared the raid seven times now should only have 3 pieces? As I said - most of the time, NOTHING to show for it.
