Let me throw you some popcorn and tell you what I saw yesterday.
I was in a casual pve guild. no gear checks, no enchantments.
We hadn’t made yet more than 3/8 BWL. Yesterday’s run was not a PUG, 40 guildies- 8 mages including.
There were 3 mage T2 items.
An officer of the guild receives 2 mages T2 items out of 3 that dropped in 3 hours 3/8 BWL raid. All other mages also needed that item and expressed it in the chat. We don’t have outstanding dps nor enchanted ppl.
The officer in this case has close to 100% attendance and a medium performance.
The officer mage received 3rd and 4th T2 items that night.
Out of 8 mages - 3 mages were better geared than other (this officer was one of them), 3 other had a mix of epicks and rares, 2 other - had mostly blues.
The 2nd mage item (the boots) would be upgrade to all (I believe all mages linked their blue boots in the chat).
The mage in question was doing a medium performance out of all mages (dps wise).
Sounds suspicious, but more information is required.
What pieces of gear were being replaced? What did the other mages have for that gear slot? How long have the other mages been in the guild?
There’s a lot of factors that should go into loot council decisions. Just because they’re an officer and they got more loot in one run doesn’t necessarily mean they’re favoring themselves. But that is a possibility.
If you want to know just politely ask them about the decision. If they hesitate or just straight up don’t give any details about the decision then they may be corrupt.
Have you seen what the 8 set bonus gives? It’s a min/max guild type decision on the hunter gear.
as far as OP’s question →
IDK man, if you think there’s bad juju, find another guild. Loot council can be done as fair and as open as possible, and someone will still think greed and bias is happening.
Honestly this does not sound bad at all. The guy is there all the time and it will help everyone else also to have better dps overall. Personally I would have passed after getting something, but I guess that was his call. (maybe he replaced some real garbage items?)
I gotcha, i meant to explain - any person min/maxing wouldn’t have a problem with a hunter getting 8/8 cause it will literally make every hunter do more dmg once 1 person has the full set.
