I agree LC is dumb.
Outside of MT OT id say just /roll
Also if youre basing attendance on LC, DKP already does this organically.

Well I donât want to be part of a pug group. I want to be in a fair guild system. Blizzard has put my server in an odd situation as most of the raid guilds left due to the horde imbalance. I, along with many others, have been in the guild since day 1 and are getting screwed on loot.
sounds like something to discuss with your guild, not us.
Thanks.
Op is a selfish loot entitled person who is part of the problem that got masterlooter removed in refail.
He is part of the people who still havenât gone back to refail yet but really really should
We are actively discussing it again after week 3 of terrible decisions. 2 people already gquit and more are considering. I just want to discuss here so other guilds can potentially understand why LC sucks.
There it is. They run the guild. Do you think fielding 40 people to run a raid, coordinating schedules, and the raid itself is effortless?
Maybe they arenât the best players, but they put in the effort to actually make the endeavor everyone just accomplished happen in the first place.
It sounds like you should really just create your own guild, and set loot rules to however you wish, because apparently making a raid guild is just as easy as âbeing a part of a cliqueâ and doesnât entail real work and effort, even outside of the game.
Then you need to find a new guild.
yep, the person who is #1 in healing every boss and has 0 loot to show for it is entitled. While the bottom feeder terrible heals are getting loot based on who they are friends with. Got it.
And this has nothing to do with retail clown as it is very rare to find LC in retail raid guilds.
Nah if someone is dead on half the fights and always has top notch rolls it is zero fair.
Loot council or dkp are both acceptable formats, do your part or pug
If your guild leadership isnât garbage, loot council is usually the best possible method. Seems like you need to reevaluate your guild rather than bash loot council.
Crappy people break every system. Itâs not unique to loot council. Loot council is just an easy pinata for entitled people to whine about. If people arenât crappy/entitled and care more about the guild/group health moving forward than their own purples any system can work to various levels of success. LC is the best when done effectively. Rolling is absolutely the worst unless you have consistent attendance but relies on people realizing whatâs best for the group isnât that they win every roll.
Depends the guild. My guild currently does all rolling, but we also have a loot council on officer chat if the need is there. We council to the MT when its needed and once we get some more gear, we may council for set bonuses, but otherwise, its not âOfficer Mage gets all the gear until heâs doneâ sorta non-sense, people arenât gonna come along with your raid if they donât think they can get any gear.
Not really. Most guilds specify in advance whether or not they do loot council. And if they didnât, or you donât like it, you shouldnât be in that guild then.
Terrible idea. Ninja looting would run rampant in the game and the higher ups in the guild will probably just all need on the item to give it to the one they see fit for it.
Loot council is still in retail. Most guilds compile personal loot and distribute it to the people who they know will use it best. Iâve never been in a semi serious guild that doesnât have a loot council. If the loot council in your guild is unfair, maybe you should be in a different guild.
I have used almost exclusively loot council since Vanilla and havenât had much issue. It just takes decent people to be fair. Itâs not terrible, people are.
The OP never brought any of that stuff into the equation. You did and it ignores the fact that downing the boss to have the opportunity to loot took the full raidâs participation.
They did their part. Itâs easy to portray people as incompetent when we use fictitious examples. If you grab crappy PUGs you probably should make them aware of the diminished loot opportunities.
You are delusional if you think 40 man raids canât roll out with a full set of competent players.
Youre assuming im talking about pugs. Iâm very clearly talking about guild runs. You shouldnt be loot counciling in pugs, because yes, that wouldnt be fair.
Not going to generalize like that but I am going to point out that Master Looter abuse probably had a big part in the removal of Master Looter
like the vast majority of us havenât played vanilla or somethingâŚI was in a very high end raiding guild, cleared most of Naxx that managed just fine with dkp/wishlist and it worked great. Loot council is for nerds on a power trip and is used to hold their little authority against players.
That the issue with where I am at. It is a set raid roster so everyone is dedicated and consistent. I agree with it not being a guild for me, but, I am unfortunately on a low pop alliance server with no other highly active guilds. I am the top healer 9/10 fights in MC and have 0 loot through 3 weeks. Canât say the same for the main group clique who is actively middle of the pack-bottom. Frustrating is all and itâs all starting to unravel in gchat / discord after each raid.
Loot council can be really good, but it is fair to say that anybody doing it thinks theyâre doing it right. I suspect your guildâs leadership isnât actually doing anything overtly nefarious (well, probably not, anyway), it just plays out this way. People can, and do, have bias.
One thing I might offer you is that, perhaps, they are funneling gear towards those people who arenât performing as well as you are in an effort to lessen the gap between you both. I understand your frustrations, everybody likes to see loot, but from what you describe, you are a little carrying your guild right now.
In the interests of supporting the team, I could see how people might see a benefit in funneling gear to under performers so that overall performance is more smoothed out. It does sometimes make sense to shore up your weak points because, at the end of the day, the only thing that matters is overall team performance.
Just something to consider⌠an alternate perspective, if you will.
It doesnât make sense when the end game content is this is easy. there is no progression.
either you respect all people who show up to raid or you donât.
