Loot and lockout question

Hi,

I have a question and can’t find any confirmed information about the loot and lock system.

My guild will be raiding New Mexico with 20 people. If any of us have already defeated one of our bosses in the same mode, I know they are locked and can’t loot again in the same week in that mode.

My question is: does this change the amount of loot for the party if they come with us anyway? Or will the other 19 people share the same amount of loot as 20?

Yes, it does.

Raids drop loot in a ratio of 1 per 5 people that also used fractions so for example 20 people is 4 drops and 18 people would be 3 drops with a 50% chance at a 4th drop.

Anyone that is saved to the boss doesn’t count in terms of loot eligible people for how much loot drops.

So you can’t have 15 loot locked people show up and raid with 5 people that are loot eligible and still get 4 drops per boss funneled to those 5.

There is some nuance on the ratio with tier drops and rare items and such, but this is the basic premise.

Ok and with your exemple of 15 saved and 5 not, is it possible to have no loot cause the drop table chance fall on the 15 saved then consider le full raid lock ? Or the 5 ones will automaticaly have the 4 loots to roll on ?

In my specific example of 5 loot eligible people and the drop rate of 1 per 5 means 1 item would drop.

People who aren’t loot eligible are treated like they don’t exist for the purposes of calculating how much loot drops.

Ok ty for this, that’s exactly what I wanted to understand and confirm !
