Looks Like the Mighty Caravan Brutosaur might Be Unobtainable In 9.0.1 (Part 1)

I didn’t know that video game pixels had rights

Now that I know you’re just trolling, I will move on and let this go.

:upside_down_face::upside_down_face::upside_down_face:

4 things;

  1. This was not one of the examples you used in the OP. My point still stands; getting 5 mil for a mount is nowhere near as engaging from a gameplay perspective as any of the actual challenge mechanics that have been in the game.
  2. Those two mounts were also locked behind questlines. 1K g might have been difficult to get, but it was not the entirety of the “gameplay” related to the mounts.
  3. They later brought back and updated those mounts anyway in legion and put them behind actual achievements, then they did the same thing to mounts for all classes. Because gold sinks are gold sinks, and achievements are achievements. They’re supposed to be different things.
  4. Gold sink mounts have not historically been removed for no reason. I can go back and buy the giant spider or the lightforged warframe from Legion if I wanted. Removing the Brutosaur sets a terrible precedent, and should not be defended by any member of the playerbase.

Not for me, personally. As I’ve said before, most of those time limited items you mentioned we all knew were going away when they were implemented, or very shortly thereafter. Nothing was said on this one. That’s why I’m irritated. And we wouldn’t have even found out if that guy hadn’t made the thread and called out Blizzard.

We should be encouraging and receiving more communication from Blizzard. This radio silence nonsense we have going on a lot of the time involving undocumented changes such as the world scaling, GCD changes, and now this? It’s bad juju. Had we been told at the beginning of the expac that this mount was going to be time sensitive, I’d be on the same page as you.

But we weren’t. That’s what I’m not happy about. Don’t care about the mount. I just wish we were talked to.

What does any of that have to do with a MOUNT?

Also, the Grand Expedition Yak would like to have a word with you. How is that mount with it’s special abilities any different from the Brutosaur? And you can still go buy it and it’s a Pandaland mount. So why again should the Brutosaur be removed at the end of this expansion much less at all?

The main issue is we didn’t know at the start of the expansion that it would be removed. Had I known that, I wouldn’t have spent the amount of gold I had on other things throughout the expansion.

I spent that time planning to get it in the future, and spending money in the process. This is far different than any other gold sink mount in the game, so I had no reason to believe it would be any different. Compared to the other things you pointed out, which Blizzard was discussing removal very early on and even gave people catch up mechanics and assistance to make sure everyone playing at the time had the opportunity to get the challenges done before they were gone forever.

That is the biggest difference and why this deserves the outrage.

Something being on the BMAH is just about as good as removing it from the game.

You are quite literally admitting that in your eyes, some of the content in the game isn’t content because you don’t agree it is content. I think it’s fair to say that you dismissing an expensive mount as being irrelevant, is irrelevant.

If the “whales” wanted it, why didn’t they buy it in the last 1.5 years they could have with tokens?

Exactly. Everything they do indicates something about the mindset behind the game. They can tell us what we want to hear in order to wind up a Blizzcon crowd, but that doesn’t outweigh the things they actually do behind the scenes.

So… if it didn’t go away… would you have bought the mount in like 4 years from now?

I would have, most definitely. Actually, it might have only been in three more years (four total).

Omg… I hope they purposely don’t change their stance on this until 2 weeks before the patch so that your outrage can go away, but they’ve already suckered all the whales.

That would be hilarious.

Did Blizzard set up a blog post explaining that the mount would be removed and an explanation for why it would be removed? No? That’s because they had no intention of divulging that information until players started asking about it.

I currently have 7.3 million gold after having used gold to buy the virtual ticket, 6 months of game time, and the epic edition of Shadowlands.

I’m upset at the shady and underhanded tactics that are on display from Blizzard.

This should have been announced at the start of BfA, and it should have been something they announced on their own. Stop making excuses for their astonishingly horrible communication skills.

Almost like you stating some of the accessories in the game are content. To each their own, irrelevant or not.

And, truth be told, when you’re involved in a discussion about something on an open discussion forum, one person’s opinion is just as relevant as someone else’s. So if my opinion is irrelevant, so is yours.

We’re buddies in relevancy!

Very odd decision to remove it in a x.3 patch. We should have been told this at expansion launch. And I don’t see the reason really to remove it, unless adding it was a bad idea in the first place. But if that’s the case own up and say so.

No mount with a special ability should EVER be removed like this. Those not good at making gold who it will literally take them years to get enough or new players coming along get screwed over, and for what?

Your post was incredibly spot on and I would like to thank you for taking the time to make it.

Yes that’s right a HMP had to lower himself but you know what that MVP troll has earned it.
