Okay, I’ll prove exactly how prestigious owning a Mighty Caravan Brutosaur is from my own experience.
I bought the Mighty Caravan Brutosaur as soon as it was available, and use it frequently every day because I have 100 alts spread over 2 dozen realms and all I do on them is quest and collect items to sell. I’d quite like to raid too, but any time I get accepted into a raid they start wiping and blame me for it for "Pulling the boss’ or “Standing in the fire”, whatever those things are supposed to mean. I’ve tried just lying dead throughout boss fights like I do when everyone else is killing the trash, so I can’t get blamed for anything that wipes the group but they always kick me anyway.
It’s really not fair. I’ve explained to raid leaders they have no right to kick me because I’m provably in the top 3%. I’m a highly prestigious player because I own the highly prestigious Mighty Caravan Brutosaur and none of those raid leaders do.
But all that happens is I end up having to report those bullying meanies for telling me to do something horribly painful and physically impossible with my Mighty Caravan Brutosaur.
If you impecunious readers are wondering how I made so much gold, (I keep guild banks on dozens of realms just to hold all my excess gold, along with high value items with which I don’t want to suddenly inundate the market,) it’s perfectly easy, anyone can do it.
A hospital set me on the right track. I went in with a back operation and came out crippled completely and unable to remember my own name. Apparently the anesthetist was too busy sampling his own wares to pay attention and the doctor was a trainee who was not supposed to be working unsupervised.
When I came out (of the hospital, I mean,) my kids bought me a computer and sat me in the corner with it, and over the past 20 years I’ve progressed from minesweeper to Magic Online to Skyrim to WoW. These days I can remember my name again, if not much else.
Painkillers are pretty useless for nerve pain in the back - except for morphine types, and doctors won’t keep prescribing those. So I do the one thing that works, keep my mind off it. On a bad day I play up to 20 hours a day, because it’s better playing on exhausted than lying alone in the dark with nothing to take me out of myself.
I even got banned for botting once, the entire case against me being that it was physically impossible to play such long hours. The decision was luckily reversed when I explained my condition and begged them to check their Warden files. I could never use a bot because I don’t understand how it’s done. Just learning to move my toons and manipulate the camera was really difficult at first. I was level 90 on my first toon, a little gnome, when I learned how to play in third person. At last I could see over the reeds to click on my fishing bobber!
Anyway, not being able to progress much through content other than questing, I kept making new alts all over the place, constantly auctioning stuff I found and flipping items on every realm I spread to.
So you see, anyone can do it. Just don’t sleep, don’t have a “life”, and spend around 20 hours a day collecting, auctioning and flipping. I’m sure everyone will agree Blizzard is Doing the Right Thing by rewarding such behaviour with the prestigious, temporarily available, Mighty Caravan Brutosaur.
Once you purchase your very own Mighty Caravan Brutosaur, and mount it in public, you can expect the acclaim, adulation and applause to which you are entitled. I keep mounting up right in the auction house doorway in order to receive my due and I have actually had 2 players ask where I got it from. The rest of the comments I’ve received are not worth mentioning. The players whispering me obviously clicked my name by mistake instead of some guy they despised and hated and thought they should report.
To sum up - or TLDR as they say - constant, addictive game play, with the time spent flipping auctions because one is too slow and dumb to do end game content, is Highly Meritorious. Everyone will definitely be in awe of you and tell you what they think of you when you mount one in the middle of their gathering.
Blizzard is quite right to reward such behaviour and prove our prestige by discontinuing the mount, just as the loudly lauded Yesuna keeps saying.
It’s not like the buckets of bullion we make and the mouthwatering range of items we can buy with gold is already reward enough for being money makers, is it?
