Looks Like the Mighty Caravan Brutosaur might Be Unobtainable In 9.0.1 (Part 1)

No, because removing content for any reason is stupid and pointless.

Yes i would be fine with it. Of course i am fine with them not retiring the one they have since that is not what is happening. You just won’t be able to walk up to a vendor anytime you want and get one.

No. There’s no reason to retire it just as there was no reason to retire mammoth and yak (which are still around). A variety of vendor mounts is good. And they give something for people to work towards. If they want to introduce a new vendor mount in Shadowlands they can do so without removing any existing ones.

No, because

  1. They have never removed any other gold sink, and
  2. Unless they annoince it right now, then it’s still obvious why they are doing what they’re doing.

Not really. Players complain they feel the game has nothing to work toward and that was the MO for a long while. They’ve removed titles because they’d be way too easy to get now (Undying and Immortal specifically as well as Champion of he Naaru and Hand of A’dal.) and they canned the met achievement for tier 7 content with the mounts because Ulduar gear would have made it too easy to do things like Undying which were a part of the meta achievement and the drake would have been pointless.

I just find it funny that people cry there’s nothing in WoW to work towards to justify them playing. They get given things and told “Hey you have a year, get cracking.” and people cry about it because they don’t really want to play the game they spend 15 dollars a month on. They’d rather collect things when they’re easy.

Maybe try earning things during their relevance, you might appreciate the experience of having done something before you could steamroll it.

I am all for limited content as having benediction/anathema and Scarab lord. Those things were eventually advertised as being limited and or being removed as in Benediction’s case it was known more then a few months if i recall but as people have mentioned before the gold sink mounts have been around since wrath and is there for that purpose, which is to provide people a goal to strive for over time. If i had known that it would be removed i would of step’d up my gold game way earlier

They aren’t retiring it, the mount will be available on the BMAH.

And there really would be no point in them making another 5M AH mount because I doubt many people actually bought it as a prestige item.

It is still restricting it to BMAH and how BMAH rotates items the chance of seeing it can be slim and also one person being able to buy it vs however many ppl who are still trying to work towards it now

I’d spend 5M for a Valkyr mount.

As you indicated there have been gold sinks mounts around before, why would you not have as your goal to make enough gold so you can just buy them when they are available. At the very least you would have had 2m coming into the expansion since the legion gold sink mount was that and you would only have had 3m to make up.

They were not removed before this would be the first one to be removed as a gold sink mount.

I’m hoping that’s what they end up doing. Just having large gold sink novelty mounts for the super wealthy. Making gold has no real thing past just making the number go higher. Having status symbols to show off wealth would be nice. Still holding out on them selling a transmoggable tophat and business suit for absurd sums of gold.

i would buy a transmoggable top hat in a heart beat

Stuff has to be removed from the game from time to time or else there is never any real history to the world of warcraft. When items become unobtainable, they become a real part of history. It’s not like, made up history. It’s a real historical artifact. If you don’t appreciate how cool that is and how special it makes MMOs, meh. All I can say to you is meh.

And left in literally hundreds of others that are now meaningless as well. The hardest boss in the game’s history, Mythic Kil’jaeden, still gives his Darkener title for example.

Literally no one is saying that.

I’ve earned plenty of things during their relevance, and I couldnt care less if other people get them after me with less effort. They could give everyone in the game the Breaker of the Black Harvest title and every single Mage Tower appearance and I wouldnt care.

Saying “Well they’re removing it because its prestigious” when countless other things that were once prestigious in their day are still in the game is a really stupid argument.

And that is fine and dandy but just giving people a better heads up or not having us find out via data mining. Transparency is key

Well that might be something I would skip but I see nothing wrong with them doing that and then removing it at the end of the expansion. I actually wouldn’t buy straight prestige items like transmog for that kind of gold.

A million for transmog maybe, 5m nope.

Everyone has different goals and priorities. I spent gold on a few tier 3 transmog sets that i was missing personally. Just missing warrior and paladin now

There was a blue post about it and there is a year before it is being removed. Datamining is also kinda like peeking at presents before christmas. I don’t think blizzard wants people to datamine, but it’s an inevitable result of having a ptr.

Blue post came out after someone datamined it and was like “oh yeah about that” a year for some ppl to make 5 million can be hard. I will be able to do it for sure but not everyone can so having it as a long term is what people normally do.
