Looking forward to TBC but not WOTLK

I’m looking forward to playing Hardcore Fresh, transfer to the new Era when I inevitably die, then go into TBC. But I will stop playing once the server is forced into WOTLK. Keep the server at TBC please.

Crossing my fingers for it as well =)
I’ll definitely keep my sub active during tbc and playing it as much as possible to show the numbers that we want to keep it haha! I hope we rock it out so they don’t shift away next time!

You want your BC servers but we can’t have Lich King servers?

You can have wotlk server, I think it is better to just do both.

Also would love to have dual spec implemented in the new servers.

I think we advocate for both lol. Most people want the big 3 to stay.

That sounds better.

Truth is…

They created 11 mouths to feed.

There will always be a group yearning for one version or another. Every new expansion they put out just creates a new one.

Very true. I just remember being heartbroken when WOTLK was announced and they did not give you an option to stay on TBC, and was forced to go to WOLTK. I guess it was fun but I ultimately stopped during Ulduar Raid.

I really don’t understand why they’re being so obtuse about it. Just tell us if the servers will progress or if TBC will be era.

because we’re talking about stuff that may or may not happen in late 2026 / early 2027 dude :expressionless: it’s too early to say definitively what they’re gonna do

I imagine they have at least mulled it over. I also imagine that they wouldn’t disclose whether they’re going to or not if they already know because it may dissuade some people from resubscribing, hoping that they’ll stick around to find out what happens.

That’s ridiculous, they know exactly what they’re goin do. If they make no statement on the matter, it’s safe to assume it will be a forced progression.

that may be true, but even if it is too early, they could AT LEAST say something like “Blizz might make TBC Era permanent, but need to gauge the subs at that point…”

Like, just give us a crumb, lol. Give us hope that it COULD happen. Otherwise some people won’t play thru Vanilla again to finally get to TBC only to find out it’s for a limited time before the servers morph into WotLK.

I hope it does stay TBC era, but then have WOTLK era as well that you could xfer off tbc era if you wanted to or not

So if this does progress to BC and WotLK will they admit they screwed up and should have just left those servers behind the first time?

That is a very good question. If they left a TBC era server and gave us a WotLK era server as well, it would more or less be admitting that they didn’t read the room properly this last time around and realized that yeah, there’s some level of demand for such servers. Dunno how much of one, but there clearly exists a demand for them.

yes. wotlk is basically retail

We should be supportive of both Era servers. I have no interest in vanilla or WOTLK Era, but I support players getting the game they want. There’s a lot of misguided people on these forums that think it’s a zero-sum game, but it isn’t. You can’t force people to play the expansion they don’t want to play… we just unsub. I unsubbed after they forced people into WOTLK Classic last time, and I’m not even going to waste my time with TBC again unless they promise not to repeat that.

We should all be supportive of each other. The idea that it isn’t profitable to make another person’s preferred Era server is just ludicrous… they all increase subs and the work as already been done to make these Classic versions of the game. Anyone who says otherwise is either being a contrarian jerk because they get off on others being denied what they want, or they are just naive.

There’s a strong possibility they just don’t want to commit to anything in order to keep their options open. It’s our job to keep the pressure on and demand a decision now, before we waste our time leveling characters again. We can’t allow them to get away with what they did last time. Last time everyone I know believed there would be TBC Era, people in my guild would often talk about whether they would stay in TBC forever or not.

They obviously don’t care about splitting the user base. I would love to have a permanent Wrath server. I honestly wouldn’t mind a permanent BC server either.

Permanent Vanilla, BC, Wrath. PVP - PVE - RP

Makes those. 3 Servers for each. Let people do their thing.

Cata and forward, whatever. Even if you make those 3 servers for each expansion, it would still be less resources than the 20+ servers they spin up that just end up dying anyway.

He said the words!
I mean usually they’re prefixed with “Cata” and “basically” is more often worded as “literally” but minor details.

Plus, this is somehow even stupider.
