I’m really surprised Blizzard didn’t nerf assa rogues this week.
Teams might not reach the AWC grand final solely because they don’t have a strong Rogue main on their roster.

And it’s not like I hate rogues, But seriously. If you take away the crybaby-ishness of Cdews post, he is actually close to spot on. The real winner of open bracket was Rogues, and it wasn’t really even close.

The problem with rogues has always been the pressure you’re able to keep up with kidney shot.
If you nerf the duration, or the CD, do they become kinda useless?
Assa dmg is good right now obviously, but would other classes be more optimal if kidney wasn’t so strong?

When one rogue spec is overperforming you have forums flooded with “nerf rogue dmg and cc by 75%” that basically want the other specs left in dust with 0 afterthought because rogue is op

No, it is rogues et al. Assass is peak now cause of damage compared to other rogues… If you just nerf assass, Sub or Outlaw (which can the same class-tree controls etc… will come to the forefront. Likely not QUITE as demolishing as Assass, but don’t go thinking that the other rogue specs aren’t right behind.
Lol sure buddy, sub could make an appearance doing the most cheesy oneshot build which is telegraphed from 6 globals away but in what world do you think an outlaw will ever make an appearance?

I could see an outlaw/ele, Outlaw/frost, Outlaw/frost… ok, last one probably not so much.

Your post suggested that Outlaw has not been a compelling comp pick for some time, if ever… It was simply being pointed out that Outlaw has seen PLENTY of representation at AWC.
Would be my guess.
Your logic does work, primarily, if people are still trying to maintain the small-window-short-game burst meta. But soon as the game length re-increases, or any of a number of factors shift (which they have and will), any of the other 2 rogue specs will be there to pick up the slack.

Because im talking about the state of the spec in the current expansion. Not sure why any of the past expansion stuff would be brought up.
I guess we could talk about how combat will make an appearance in the next few awc because red buff kidney was so op in wod
no one thought outlaw was good when it was good so not sure if you remember that. it was a sleeper spec that popped out of nowhere.
but as of right now, rogue is completely over tuned as a class.
Sure, you could have put it like that, but its just dumb to claim that something will come to the forefront because it has in the past.
and outlaw is actual dead last in terms of melee damage output even though its not even a burst spec
