Looking For Some Pointers!

So I’ve decided to level a Kul Tiran to get the heritage Armor. DKs are one of my favorite classes next to hunters so I decided to make him a DK. I haven’t played one in an expansion or so mostly focusing on my Hunter and leveling other characters during the quarantine. So my question is… what feels more fun and rewarding to play atm? Predominantly I’ve been leveling and doing random bgs and dungeons as Frost. I perform pretty well, usually being first or 2nd in damage. At 120 is Frost a solid spec or would it be better to switch over to unholy? Any pointers would be greatly appreciated and please, keep it civil and constructive!

unholy if from a hunter so the pet thing might be familare just remember you can raise it again so you dont have to feel attached to it. also mostly has neat names

or blood and not die so easly

I do enjoy pet classes.

I love the survivability of Blood but I’m not big on tanking…hmm…

Fun is extremely subjective so the best thing to do is try the specs out. The specs are good in their own right.

I’ve always liked the look of unholy but I could never get the hang of it. Heck even look what’s coming in SL, some traits are coming in as talents, and talents being made baseline and frost isn’t really changing much going into SL.

I’ve browsed a few posts here and the overall idea i get from it is Unholy is a bit complicated and Frost is more straight forward. I love pet classes so i could probably get the hang of unholy. I probably just need to play around with both and see what suits me.

It’s not that complicated…

  1. Keep your disease up.
  2. Put wounds on the target.
  3. Burst said wounds.

That’s what I figured. I played UH in Legion and it wasn’t complicated at all. But then I see people complaining about the ramp up and the “complicated” playstyle. I’m sure it’ll be fine lol

There is a lot more involved than those 3 things. Ramp up because you have to apply wounds, transform your pet, summon other pets with apoc/army, festermight. Garg becoming baseline again. Doing aoe properly. There is quite a bit too it.

He’s leveling it for heritage armor. He doesn’t need to inherently understand all of that to start. Most of what you wrote is irrelevant until max level.

The rune management is what can make it a pain, you screw up the order and your dps suffers, you play it ideally and you go nuclear.

It also helps when you get a decent level of haste.

At higher levels there’s a lot of ramp up.
Personally I like frost more but I just couldn’t compete with the effectiveness of unholy.

And he talked about max level as well.

Most of it is about leveling. The one part about 120 just asks if frost is solid, which it is. Don’t be daft.

Woh! Man! This guy’s a real forums badass! …I’ve heard of those before…

I’m gettin’ out here while the gettin’ is good. I suggest yall do the same.

Or if it would be better to switch to unholy. He clearly has an interest of max level play.

Well this certainly went off the chain quickly… >_>

When you actually play at an upper end level trying min max some stuff, there’s balancing Festermight stacks, working around CDs(same with every class), know where to put down DaD due to it being immovable and long CD. there’s some parts that make it interesting.
It’s not the hardest class out there, but it’s not simple

And getting to max level for heritage armor requires knowing none of that…
