Looking for some horror movies!

I’ve seen a ton of them, willing to rewatch a lot.

Mostly looking for horror/suspense movies that don’t rely on cheap jumpscares. Imo they are boring and too predictable.
Amy sub genre will do!

‘clue’ is a scary suspense. enjoy!

Here’s a few that I thought were damn good and maybe not real well known.

Grave Encounters (2012)

A ghost hunter style show decides to shot their next installment in an abandoned psyche hospital. Their show is fake but they soon learn they shouldn’t be messing around with the supernatural. An excellent found footage movie. The sequel to this is also very good. Continues on from this.

The Innkeepers (2012)

This is a nice creepy horror. No blood and guts. Just a good old fashioned ghost story. If you do watch this when you get to the end scene in the bedroom you have to look real close to something near the window. I won’t say anymore or it will ruin everything.

The Blackcoats Daughter (2015)

A real good slow burn horror here. This one should keep you guessing what’s going on thru out the movie. Emma Roberts and Kiernan Shipka are perfect in this.

Trick R Treat (2007)

And you can’t go past this classic Halloween collection of short stories. Five stories all up and set in a small town on Halloween night. Really well done with the storylines sorta interweaving with each other.

Terrifier (2017)

And the last one is the awesome Terrifier. Ultra gory and lots of blood with one of the scariest clowns in the business. This movie is a spin off from another Halloween style collection of stories called All Hollows Eve that was released in 2013. Art the clown from Terrifier was part of that and then got his own full movie. So two more good Halloween movies here although more on the gory side if you like that

Trick 'r Treat is in my top 5 list for horror movies! It’s just fun hahah.
Terrifyer was pretty good as well

I’ve always loved the SciFi horror stuff. John Carpenter’s ‘The Thing’ always gets top marks but check out the original from the 1950s - ‘The Thing from another World’ .

I thought of a new one :grinning:

The Autopsy Of Jane Doe (2016)

Awesome movie. Two guys werking in a morgue are sent some random dead woman from a crime scene. However there is more to her and things slowly start getting weird thru-out the nite. A nice creepy movie which is mostly set in the morgue. Highly recommend.

The Grudge, Ju-on the Curse, The Ring, IT, the Conjuring Series…

One might well imagine a showdown between Samara, Kayako and Valak!

Kayako was last seen stuck in the girl Rose as a result of an Exorcism so bonus points if someone gets the bright idea of resurrecting Samara to make her easier to contain only for Samara to kill a contained Rose releasing Kayako back into reality while Valak goes on a rampage!

Kayako would have all the abilities she has in total including the ones from Ju-on the Curse 2 where she appeared in multiple places at once and ganged up on a kid! Valak also has that ability by the way…

Samara would be getting beat down on by a powerful Onryō(who is not likely to be affected by images burned in her mind considering the sheer brutality and terror she herself unleashed upon others and had unleashed upon herself) and a powerful Demon who won’t hesitate to throw Water at Samara(Samara is scared of Water) having swum in it casually.

Great movie, was super weird the first time I saw it. Would definitely watch again, it’s been a while!

I like most of the movies in the conjuring cinematic universe. The most recent one I rewatched was La Llorana.

Alien or Aliens.

The power level of the Demons in the Conjuring Universe in comparison to the Ghosts of the Ring and Grudge Universes is unknown.

That said it can be said that despite Kayako manifesting regardless of Time Period(even before her demise) she is distinctly shown getting beat up by Sadako with relative ease only surviving because she appears in multiple instances at once!

Kayako can manifest anywhere in any form yet despite a lack of weaknesses seems to be weak while Valak and Sadako who are more limited in manifestation are overpowered.

Funny how the weak Ghost(Kayako) overcompensates by attacking from everywhere across time and space while the powerful Ghost(Sadako) and the powerful Demon(Valak) are less overt.

I just watched this on youtube and it’s pretty creepy.

I used to live in CT.

I remember when my family was packing up our Michigan house and preparing to leave to CT, the movie “A Haunting in CT” was just released and I thought there’s gonna be ghosts where I was going to live. Luckily, my CT home didn’t have any spooky stuff, neither did the town I lived in.
It feels weird, it’s been 6 years since I lived in CT and I feel that my affection for it has dulled, just like living in CT has dulled my affection for Michigan. I live in TN now. But I really don’t identify as a Tennessean any less than a Nutmeger.

try “Wake Wood”. I think it’s on Tubi and Prime. Not a bad little mostly unknown horror flick. Starts out like a grief drama and ends like a horror movie. I thought it was pretty good

one of my fav horrors. really well done.

also i’m not a fan of “found footage” type movies but “Hell House, LLC” is awesome too! it has 2 sequels that are actually decent as well

The first Hell House LLC was damn good. Haven’t watched the sequels.

Trick R Treat would have been perfection if not for the reveal. (That was dumb)

I loved Hell House LLC. That was a well done found footage film.
