Looking for rp contacts and people to write with

Good day to all of you!

I am a long-time writer and role player, and I have been around wow off and on since launch back in 03.

I have recently come back to wow in the last month or so and have been having a lot of fun playing the game again. To go along with this I am looking for people to rp with! I figured that this would be a good place to put some feelers out.

Here is a little bit about me first.

As I mentioned above I have been rping for a very long time, several decades, both in MMOs and in ttrgps. I prefer quality over quantity when it comes to rp, I prefer long-form (multi-para) role-play to short posts. I am interested in long term rp vice short to or one off scenes.

I am on EST, and my hours are usually from around 8 am-8-9 pm EST most days. I work from home and can usually be around in-game to write or what have you with a little bit of planning. I am married with a bunch of kids though so my RL can become hectic at times. Usually, though, I have time just about every day to rp.

I am not averse to discord rp to go along with in-game rp, but not interested in discord only rp. I am part of a knightly/paladin guild in game atm and I like in game rp as it brings in the larger world.

I am looking for all kinds of rp really. I am just looking for talented interesting people to write and create stories with. Here are some simple ideas for hooks.

  • Romance
  • *Adventure *
  • Argent Dawn
  • Argent Crusade
  • Silver Hand
  • Noble families of Lordaeron
  • Mentor
  • Squire
  • Enemy

Super open to all types of rp, I am older IRL and have no issues with adult or mature content.

Now a bit about the character!

Physical Description
Pyerial is a large man standing over six feet in height with broad shoulders and long powerful limbs. Years of good breeding has given him a tall, imposing figure. He has an almost painfully handsome face with angelic features framed by a long mane of golden hair. His eyes are a very dark blue, intense and intelligent. A thick but neatly trimmed beard frames his high cheekbones and strong square jaw. The former Knight turned Paladin carries himself with the posture and self-confidence that only a natural-born warrior or experienced fighter can manage.

Personality Traits
The Former Knight turned Paladin is a stern man by nature. Experiencing all three wars and seeing the Scourge wipe out the city of his birth and most of his family had hardened him. He has seen much loss in his life, and the loss has turned him into a dour man prone to bouts of melancholy. Despite what he has lived through, Pyerial is a man bound by duty and isn’t so slaved to his humors that he’s incapable of fun or joy or love and lust. He still loves the adventure of new experience and the rush of battle, still devoutly invested in the survival of the Alliance and final defeat of the Scourge.

Background
Pyerial Van’Zant was born to one of the many noble families of Lordaeron, roughly 15 before the Dark Portal first opened. The oldest of four children, he was considered exceptional by his Mother and Father. A handsome boy with hair like molten gold, he grew fast and was tutored by some of the best scholars the city had to offer. His father was one of the Knights of Lordaeron, and his family’s wealth had been built off a robust trade of ore and timber between Tarren Mill and the Dwarven Lands to the south. The Van’Zants were a vassle house to the great noble House of Barov, the richest family in Lordaeron and one of the six ruling families of the great city.

Pyerial was a squire to his father, having followed him into the Knighthood when the Dark Portal first opened, and the First Horde poured through. He fought as a squire at his father’s side, marching into battle against the Orcs. He was sixteen when the Orcs laid siege to Lordaeron and Uther led the desperate charge through the woods to trap the Horde between themselves, the strong walls of the city, and the soldiers that poured forth when the Knights struck. It was during that heroic charge into the rear of the Hordes lines that Pyerials father, Ibram, died, struck down by a huge Orc wolf rider in the fury of the battle.

Pyerial took up the mantle of his Father and was anointed a Knight after that battle, helping to push the broken Horde into the mountains and away from the Capital. After the threat was dealt with and the Archbishop Alonsus Faol came forward, seeking to strengthen the power of the forces of Lordaeron teaching the ways of the light and its capabilities to the Knighthood, Pyerial was one of the first accepted.

The young but battle-hardened Knight prayed hard and harnessed the power of the light with remarkable ease, becoming one of the first Paladins of the Silver Hand. When the Horde surged forth out of Blackrock mountain and pushed into Dwarven and Gnomish kingdom of Khaz Modan Pyerial was one of the Paladins who led the newly formed Alliances forces in to retake the lands and liberate their allies from Orc’ish occupation. While leading platoons of men and elves, Pyerial earned the nickname “The Brightest One” due to his compelling mastery of the Light and how he was able to wield it to devastating offensive effect during combat.

Along with the rest of the Alliances forces the former Knight now a veteran Paladin pushed the Horde back to the Dark Portal and then beyond it, fighting into the Fel infected hellscape of Draenor to end the Orc threat once and for all. As Ner’Zhuls failed ritual began to tear the world apart, Pyerial and the rest of the Alliance forces fled back through the portal, where he assisted in the rounding up of the remains of the Horde.

Pyerial continued to serve in the Silver Order in the years after the defeat of the Horde and the closing of the Dark Portal. He rose through its rank to the position of Knight-Captain by the time the Plague began to ravage the lands around Lordaeron. He and his fellow Knights worked tirelessly to try to combat it to no avail. He was not part of the ill-fated and ultimately doomed expedition that took Arthas to Northrend in search of a cure. When the fallen Prince returned with the Scourge Pyerial rallied with Uther, and the rest of the Silver Hand fought back the horrors of the undead and the fallen Knights that had died and then been risen by the corrupted Arthas.

It wasn’t enough, Lordaeron fell in the end and Pyerial, no matter how hard he fought, was unable to save his home or his family. He watched as Luther fell to the hand of his most exceptional student and he watched as the City fell to the undead. As the north burned Pyerial and a handful of other Knights of the Silver Hand fled south to Stromwind, leading the refugees to safety, and there followed the greatest of his former Order Tirion Fordring and joined the Argent Dawn.

The Paladin stayed in Stormwind long enough to ensure the refugees from Lordaeron he had helped bring to the city were settled and then with the rest of his reformed Knighthood, he headed north to take the fight to the scourge in the plaguelands.

Really love your story/background. I am sure you will find people to write with.

I didn’t see pirates or those that think Paladins have turned into holier than thou jackwagons as options or I would have hit you up.

Why no pirate rp!!! How do you think the Crusade gets around? Hiring less than desirable ship captains to haul all their men and equipment.

And thank you! I know I need to update it past like the classic timeline, but it’s fair to say that Pyerial has been with the Argent Dawn in the Plaguelands, then the Crusade in Northrend, then back to the Plaguelands and the retaking of Hearthglen, and eventually the ill-fated trip to the broken shore where the Crusade army was basically sacked.

All lies!

But seriously, thank you. It was fun to rp in the park, even if it was only for a short time. You’re a fantastic rper.

I’ve had so much fun writing with this guy that I leveled up a human version of my character in a week to save on elixirs and hang out in more places. He’s very learned and authentic when it comes to lore, and will have conversations about all sorts of in-game topics which I think is awesome since we all can have different points of view of the game world. So easy to get along with, and love his writing style.

I will reiterate Elinlyssa’s comment: He really is a good RPer and a nice guy OOC.

Seriously…if you want some great roleplay, check out Pyerial. Whether your character likes him or hates him, I’m sure you’ll have a great time.

Bump!

Roleplay has been great so far! But I am still looking for more people to write with. Pyerial has a squire now and is making inroads with the Eternal Court of Lordaeron, and plans on trying to take back his family’s ancestral lands.

Everything in the OP still stands, besides the change that I no longer need a squire, got some art done as well! (For some reason I cant put a link in my post)

I think a neat angle to take, especially since my character is basically neutral when it comes to hord/alliance things and is instead Argent aligned (and with the upcoming patch making cross-faction stuff easier) is to look for more rp contacts with other neutral organizations like the KT, or the Blood Knights, the Silver Vanguard, etc. So if you are part of any of those other faction neutral organizations or especially those neutral organizations that have ties to the Argent movement/Silver Hand, get in touch and lets write.

Feel free to contact me via discord or my Bnet.
