Hello everyone. I am new to wow retail, really enjoying it, very immersive and rich world. I am having trouble accessing some areas that are (i guess locked behind content i dont really know though, am noob). I think the story line is very interesting for alot of people im just not into it at the moment. I was wondering if you all could be a big help and link me a walkthrough that will just get me through all the content as fast as possible to unlock all of the zones that i cant get to. Or better yet an addon that just tells me what to do. Trying to get through it as fast as possible, personally not a fan of the scripted content (just want to be able to access all zones and explore on my own)
for example i cant get to argus… which im reading you need to be friendly with broken isles factions? as a complete noob you can see how frustrating it can be to start figuring all of this out. And that’s just one place i want to go that i cant get to.
Getting to Argus
! Right after the Patch 7.3 launch it turned out that the Patch 7.2’s Broken Shore Intro Scenario is an Account-level requirement to begin the campaign of Argus. This is because storywise the journey to Argus is a continuation of what happened on the Broken Shore and in Tomb of Sargeras.
To unlock ! Assault on Broken Shore your character needs to hit level 110 then head to the Violet Citadel in Dalaran and complete the quest: ! Uniting the Isles offered by Archmage Khadgar. Then head to Krasus’ Landing and complete ! Armies of Legionfall. Since the completion of the Broken Shore scenario is Account-wide you need only one character on your account to complete it, then the rest of your characters can skip it by choosing Khadgar’s gossip option: " I’ve heard this tale before… ". Once you complete the ! Assault on Broken Shore quest, head straight back to the Violet Citadel in Dalaran, where the introduction quest for Argus, ! The Hand of Fate, will be available from Khadgar. Once you’ve accepted this quest, try to complete the quest chain up until the end of ! Rendezvous before doing anything else, as this will create a Lightforged Beacon in Dalaran that can be used to teleport back to Argus at any time.
If you do leave Argus before completing ! Rendezvous and you’re struggling to get back, head to your capital city’s docks. Alliance players will need to speak with Vereesa Windrunner, while Horde players will want Lady Liadrin. They will send you to a phased version of the Exodar and you’ll get another chance to complete the introductory questline, though you may have to repeat quests, so its better to just complete the quests the first time around.
If you boosted your character you will be able to skip the Uniting quest, you can pick it up and turn it in without having to get the reputations to friendly, and it’ll unlock world quests and whatnot for you. Same for any alts you make afterwards.
Wowhead is a good place to look for guides for free. There are several in depth ones that tell you the steps needed to unlock things, etc.
Alternatively, the paid Zygor’s guide gets you an ingame addon where you can pick what you want to do and it’ll tell you what to do and where to go.
