I am having issues with the game launching after today’s update. This is the second time it has happened after an update. I have tried the remedies from Battle.net Support and they do not help.
After todays update, the launcher will not launch the game. It goes through the prompts as if it is going to launch the game. So I launch Battle.net, the “Play” prompt shows up for WOW, I press it. The “Launching” prompt shows up and then the “Play” prompt shows up again. It never actually launches the game.
Go to the _retail_ folder and look for the WoW.exe file icon. If it is not the WoW icon, delete it. Then launch the launcher and wait for the update. This resolved the issue for me.
