Hello, trying to get the following to work but it wont:
/cast [mod:shift, @party1] Flash of Light
/cast [mod:ctrl, @party2] Flash of Light
/cast [nomod] Flash of Light
I want to cast on myself with no mod, shift to party 1 and ctrl to party 2. The Shift macro works, but the ctrl one doesn’t; it just targets me. I’ve tried the above with party1 + party2, and party2 + party3. Cant get it to work =(
I heal in a similar way. You should use @player for yourself. I’d also recommend that you go into options >> gameplay >> combat and set “Self Cast” to None. Having this option on makes spells sometimes target yourself when you don’t want them to.

I’d also recommend that you use the FrameSort addon to make sure that you always show up in the 1st slot of the party frames.
also check that auto self cast is on in options as well as that you don’t have Shift/ctrl+whatever key you’re binding it to assigned to anything else in your binds.
I like to go in and clear my CTRL/Shift/ALT+party/arena targeting as well as any other skill I have modifiers on by assigning every one of them to something like move and steer then clearing it and doing the rest. As I use ASD+mods for things like target arena 123/interrupt/cc/etc on modifiers, I also made sure to unbind things like hide ui/mute sound etc, because some times I will fat finger alt+z and have to scramble to show my ui or mute my sound or whatever accidentally for any ui function bind that overlaps with or is very close in physical relation to any of those binds. I’m old, my fingers aren’t as nimble as they once were, and I just came back to arena since the end of mop, so I’m rusty and getting used to my target macros again.
For healing, I have always stuck by using my mousewheel up/down and shift up for self target, so Mwheelup=party1, mwheeldown=party2, shiftmwheelup=Self. As well has having things like shield and other cd’s to self cast with a shift mod and the same keybind.
Having frame sorting addons is also a big plus so you always know that when you look at your party frames, that up is party1, down party 2, and you can have your own party frame wherever (I go Me>p1>p2 for simplicity) as well as replacing enemy names with arena enemy 1/2/3 with their arena frames following the same order.
I used to be really adept at it, but something like a decade away has made it more challenging to get used to again.

add ; flash of light after every flash of light there. should do what u want
what other homie said to reiterate make sure u don’t have a ctrl keybind of that key. if u ahave a ctontrol anything with that letter or number using for it
Thank you for the replies everyone, but I still havent gotten this to work.
I went through all keybinds and unbound Ctrl to everything. I have turned off self cast. I have verified Ctrl button works. I have gone through Windows hotjeys and macros to make sure Ctrl isnt secretly bound to some macro or command outside of wow. Nothing will work.
Can someone plz post an example of their own shift/ctrl mod macro that I can try? I dont know what im doing wrong and I cant find any resources that lead to a fix. Thanks for your time
