Ya, I guess I’m waiting for 5800 or 11th gen intel, might have to up my budget
11th gen Intel is supposedly up to 7% faster in synthetic single threaded performance (generally the indicator for gaming results) than Ryzen 5000, but leaks seem to point that heat will be difficult to manage.
Obviously we need to wait for benchmarks, but I’m not holding my breath on Intel here.
Does 7% synthetic single threaded equate to wow? I thought wow only goes off Clock Speed? If intel is winning for wow, I might just go all out and build a 11900k build.
That metric is a combination of both IPC and frequency. Generally, this metric is an indicator of gaming performance (along with core latency, which Intel usually does fine with on the Ring architecture), as long as there are enough cores.
I would say that the 11900k is very very likely to outperform the 10900k in gaming, even though it’s got less cores.
But its impossible to know since it is a new architecture, so it might suck. Ryzen 3000 performed well in synthetic single thread performance, but generally was worse in gaming still.
Need to wait for benchmarks.
is faster or higher IPC good for world of warcraft?
It’s good for everything, but high instructions per cycle in conjunction with high frequency is good for WoW especially.

My WoW with 5900X and RTX 3080 at Level 10 2560x1440 MSAA 4x will drop to 29FPS on 100+ players world boss raid. Probably something is wrong with drivers though. Someone with RTX 2080 Ti gets 60ish FPS.
once again, that video card is not at that price unless you know a market place no one else does
Best buy still sells FE cards. Couple weeks ago they had a drop and several people got them. I had one in my cart also.
It’s possible, just gotta be on the lookout.
