I was recently talking to a friend who mentioned that there are many smaller guilds out there, but they don’t openly recruit, so I was wondering what a good strategy is to find this type of guild.
I like to do professions and sometimes get into mythic dungeons, but I don’t like the fast paced nature of many of the guilds out there. I also haven’t had the best experience in the past with guilds who openly invite people and end up with mixed results.
I think it would be nice to be a part of a guild that values having fun as a priority which might naturally lead to content progression. I appreciate warm vibes, consideration and respect, regardless if they are a top skill player or just fall somewhere in the middle.
It is a bit challenging to know who’s going to be a good fit. I haven’t felt great when a majority of a guild raid logs and plays other games outside of raid time. Are there still family-style guilds with active players throughout the expansion?

Hey Bene, don’t like the guild size in game fool you — we’re a smallish guild but soooo many of us have like 54839573957439 alts! We do have a place for everyone and enjoy trying to be part of EVERYTHING the game has to offer. With that said…
If you are interested in a “later in the evening” active and social, you may enjoy a guild like ours — smaller, close knit, but fun! I run this guild with my husband as my Co-GM. However, we are a Pacific Time based guild and it seems there is a shortage of guilds on that coast, but it does suit some MST/CST/EST players that work second shift, have a spouse/kids to tend to, or simply are night owls. Currently we have roughly ~100 active members that make up roughly about ~330 characters (some are admitted altoholics!).
We definitely have raiding teams in our guild, so if you grow to be interested in some of that in the near future you can apply to those teams in house. We cover all three tiers here; Normal, Heroic, and Mythic. So its a great place to learn and grow going from one tier to the next as your skills improve.
Aside from raiding, we constantly run delves and dungeons and there are several M+ runners and M+ static teams, as well as PvP teams, in our guild to go through that journey. We intend to be ACTIVE throughout the entirety of the seasons of content. We are also a social guild and encourage everyone to participate in Discord (our guild chat isn’t as active admittedly, as is with most guilds) which is our main hub for all our events! We host things like Cards Against Humanity, Truth or Dare, Pictionary, or TV/Movie watch parties too! There is always a few folks sitting in Discord to chat with too (mostly afternoons and evenings of course cuz we’re adults and work!), but not so many that it overwhelms.

In case your still searching I thought I’d share my little guild.
is a newly resurrected cross faction tight knit group of friends that likes to do content at our own pace. We are a casual guild that mostly does normal learning raids (beginner/casual friendly) and mythic +. The main goal is to have fun and have an inclusive environment that is welcoming to everyone. There are no comps, play whatever spec/class/role you want. No experience is required, all encounters are explained, mistakes are okay, (is it really raiding if you don’t kill your friend with a mechanic?) and we don’t enforce Ilvl reqs. We don’t force attendance. Life happens, join us when you can. You’ll always get an invite. We love doing keys and Mythics, but some of us hate the pressure of the timer. None of us care about timing, completion is always our goal. Above all, we want to have fun.
We are basically starting from scratch with members, our dates and times are tentative and may change depending on new guildmates availability. We are not just a mythic + or raid guild, we are a casual guild and have other events planned for those that maybe just like collecting, chatting, or other aspects of the game. The guild is also very inclusive.

We’re known as Composed, a mix skilled level guild composed of casual and hardcore players that just want to play the game. We’re currently 8/8H in LoU. Currently looking for more dps and healers for S3. At the start of the new season, we’re looking to push Mythic + more aggressively into obtain +10 keys by the first 2 week.
Also looking for more mid-day players! Most of our mid-day players are retirees, work from home, evening shift, and so on. They mainly want to run M+, Delves and quest.
We also just started playing Classic Classic WoW/Classic Pandaria, this is just for fun. We are dabbling in Dungeons, possibly a raid or two if there is interest.
