Some potential deal-breakers right out of the chute:
• I’ll be playing on a PvP server.
• I’ll be playing alliance 100% of the time.
• My timezone is EST.
Whether or not I find people to play with, my plan for WoW Classic is to stick to one character and prioritize professions over my character’s level. It’s always satisfying to be able to make your own gear as you level up, basically being an almost-twink most the time.
My plan is to find 4 other people that follow this same philosophy and play often enough to keep up with each other. I plan to work on professions (or simply anything other than character leveling) when the others aren’t online so that I don’t get too far ahead.
The main point of this is to have a group of 5 with professions that mesh well together (one of each) and classes that form a viable dungeon composition. This would not only make leveling faster (when filtering the time spent not focusing on character level), but it would alleviate problems like rolling against each other for loot and fighting over resource nodes. We would also make more money because we would be able to harvest every resource node we come across.
I don’t know exactly what I intend to do once we all hit 60. We’d probably make a guild if we hadn’t already. I suppose we would just do anything 5 tightly-knit brothers in arms would do at level 60, be it raiding, battlegrounds, or anything else. I’m not an avid raider, but I have raided in the past and I won’t count myself out; I suppose I just don’t want to have to lead the raid. I probably wouldn’t be against rolling new characters and going on the same adventure with the roles shuffled around, either.
The roster would look something like this:
- Rogue/Hunter/Druid - Skinning/Leatherworking
- Warrior/Paladin - Mining/Blacksmithing
- Priest/Mage/Warlock - Tailoring/Enchanting
- Rogue/Warrior/Paladin/Druid - Herbalism/Alchemy
- Any - Any
The 5th one is “Any - Any” because, at that point, all of the gathering professions (and tailoring) have been covered and the last guy can more or less do whatever he wants. The key thing is each character would have a profession they can benefit from in a significant way.
If you’ve gotten this far, you may think this is a cool idea you want to try out with me. I’m looking for people that are fairly dedicated. If so much as one person can’t make as much time as the group average, or gives up on WoW Classic, it’s going to throw a bit of a wrench in the works. Out of respect to the participants’ time, I need any candidate to be committed.
