So I created a new alt and I am running through dragonflight. I forgot about Toddy, she was a cute little rambunctious explorer with her nice little exuberant voice.
Now she sounds like a gurgling drunk Angela Lansbury. What on earth did they do to her?
Why would they change a perfectly sounding voice for that match to perfectly little person and turn her into a 70 something year-old drunk?

That creature was the most annoying thing in Dragonflight. Not only was it visually unappealing, the voice was grating. I had hoped Blizzard chucked it in the dumpster, because I hadn’t noticed it yet in TWW.

Personally, I found her look hideous.
A drunken voice would at least create an excuse for how awful she looked.

I’m pretty sure her only appearance in TWW is in Dalaran before it exploded, she hasn’t been seen or rescued or mentioned since. I assume she didn’t make it and is hella dead.
That said, I haven’t heard anything about her being recast like OP is suggesting, and digging up a few sounds at wowhead she sounds the same to me.

Toddy Whiskers - in the loudest most grating voice you could possibly conjure, with the volume on the mixer turned way up - WELL MET!!!

Sendrax’ voice is the stuff of nightmares.
I vividly remember flying into the new zone on release. Looking forward to the new music and listening to all new characters. But almost right off the boat do we meet this abomination Sendrax with its grating, hellish, voice and instantly the game got muted. It was almost poetic justice to see that character die so soon into the introduction.
