Yes, as ive mentioned, no one cares about the changes i dont like.
Its going to be a matter of taste. Unless its wholly rejected by the playerbase, its likely to be progress. Just look at Survival.

1 option. there is only 1 option for us “real” hunters. survival used to be an option then legion melee survival happened.
again, 1 option
Which isn’t an option either, as it’s an entirely different playstyle.
100% agree with this. Even more. I think it is a red herring on the part of Blizz.
That’s the problem. They had lone wolf as an option, and it wasn’t working like they wanted it to as in one choice was always a clear DPS choice over the other. It’s like BM was stuffed the same way, if you didn’t have the two-pet talent, your DPS was soooooo bad you noticed it just doing quests, never mind top end content.
Take my my pet as MM? Yah that’s bad. But now insult me with an Eagle? Truth there.
that is true.
its gonna suck without a pet by my side as MM. i dont use a pet when i raid or M+ but as a “do everything this game has to offer player” i would say that 90% of the time my pet is by my side. gonna blow chunks not having a nice md target to help control and pursuade mob movement and kiting.
i think its a big mistake for them to remove pets from mm altogether. there is nothing wrong with having the option.
looks like its just another example of them saying “you will play our way and you will like it”
It’s like telling a holy priest to “just switch to shadow to do any content outside of an instance, because shadow is super easy and there’s nothing to know”.
I appreciate this change as a player whose first character was an MM hunter, because it gives me even more reason to never log in to that character again.
Considering MM has been pet less since legion these are good changes as far as group content goes.
It hasn’t been entirely pet-less. So this is false.
And it’s called “options.” Because not everyone is doing group content and people do Delves solo.
I usually use Lone Wolf. But there is no reason to remove pets entirely as an option.
MM is due for an overhaul, and the number of people who actually spec into it is minimal at best. I’m anxious to check out this ever circling eagle friend.
In group content outside of needing to call a pet out for lust it absolutely has.
The only places MM used a pet was solo content and pvp.
If they want a pet they have BM and SV as options.
Considering MMs design has always been to be pet less but there have been balancing issues due to lone wolf and other reasons.
Group content is the priority and making MM viable in that content should be more important than delves.
It’s still not entirely pet-less.
So thanks for agreeing.
Read the thread. I’m not entertaining this ridiculous comment further from people.
I think Blizzard wants you to switch to BM if you wanna solo stuff.
In what group content has MM used a pet besides pvp?
You’re not understanding the issue.
That’s the main reason for the changes because MM hunters had to call a permit list and then dismiss their pet because of how much. A dps loss it was to have the pet out.
That has been a major issue for years and one of the main requested changes by MM hunters.
Outside of lust MM doesn’t use a pet in group content.
It’s not a ridiculous comment. It’s a choice.
No, it’s called being half in and half out. This change is long overdue. Getting rid of the pet means not having to balance around possibly having it or not. They will be able to be more on theme and come up with new talents and abilities that are actually marksman focused.
Tell me you don’t play hunter without telling me.
Even BM gets options, honey.
Poor attempt.
MM has had the option to be pet less and that is fine. People should be able to play the game however they want just like in the real world.
For example a deer hunter is not known for hunting with a pet. They stake an area and patiently wait for the animal to come in range and shoot it before the deer even knows they are there. It is one shot/one kill. However if you are hunting a fox or a bear one might take a hunting dog for support.
If Blizzard wants to make a sniper spec that is fine. They can make a fourth spec or change the skill tree so people can build their character that way. However no spec change will ever, to me, feel like a sniper unless I can kill my enemy with a single headshot from the other side of the screen. Giving me an eagle definitely isn’t the fix.
So you might take a Beast that you have Mastery over?
You never bring out those poor, poor pets. They are probably dead in the stables by now.
Just make lone wolf a talent so stuff doesn’t eat marksmanship hunters faces out in the world.
I’d like to point out that just because there is change for MM doesn’t necessarily mean it’s progress. We’ll have to wait and see.
