Lol WoW pay to win confirmed

Lmao okay go for it. They’ve only been around for how long now in the public eye? I’m sure blizzard hasn’t looked at them and found anything wrong at all.

Go report and waste their time instead of replying in this thread and wasting ours

The fact that some people in these comments don’t understand that or are willfully being thick about it is beyond disappointing.

PvP gear in WoW needs to be normalized like in GW2 to remove ALL possibilities of players gaining an unfair advantage over those who didn’t swipe their cards. Time is a RESOURCE as is MONEY. Resources are not infinite. Therefore, there is correlation between the two.

At NO POINT should someone who swipes a card be able to outperform someone who did not in PvP. Obviously, the non-swiper can eventually “catch up”, but in the meantime, they WILL lose to the higher DPS output from a geared player who swiped their card.

So there IS a “win” component to swiping your card, even if its temporary. Temporary gains does not invalidate this being a pay2win dumpster fire.

Remove gear stat impacts in PvP, normalize all gear so that the emphasis is solely on the players skill and ability to play their classes, and you remove the pay2win element in PvP.

edit: or even better, REMOVE TOKENS. They should NOT exist in a game you already pay a sub for.

You can do that yourself.

That’s a PVP problem not a pay to win problem

Just keep in mind there is a reason why they don’t have seasonal match history api for pvp much like they do for m+.

It’s because the ambiguity enables/hides the rampant boosting. Which in turn drives token sales.

PVP is such a miniscule portion of the game that I don’t think it has any reason to be in this discussion at all

Edit* I don’t mean that the player portion of PVP is small there’s definitely a good population there but it’s the people buying gear to be better at PVP is a small portion because gear doesn’t have that much effect on it

Could you show me on the shop where I buy skill or pvp gear? I keep throwing my card at my computer screen and nothing is happening.

I have no idea what one has to do with the other but /spit on this. I like having the option to get mounts for free from the shop.

Why not free from in-game activities. Korthia could have been a hell of lot more fun with a unique way to get that bird and cat.

There are over 700 mounts I can get for free.

I meant to say in game and not from the shop. Technically every mount is free with tokens.

So you are going to argue quantity? Enjoy the 8 boars while the fey dragon from WoD was paywalled instead of a rep reward or rare drop.

No store mount is free. Someone has to pay at some point.

Except I think the boars and the fey dragon are ugly. You’re also acting like the boars are the only mounts you can get in game!

How about saying “enjoy getting Invincible while the fey dragon was paywalled instead of a rep reward or drop”? But I get it. That doesn’t have the same punch does it?

Y’all really need to learn what pay to win means. This feels like when someone 30+ (myself included) learns a new word the younger gen is using and starts using it in the wrong way.

Except Pay to Win is a term that’s very old and y’all just refuse to learn what it means.

I do not agree with letting them buy gear to essentially rig the world first race. Granted, I don’t think there should be -any- emphasis on the world first race, but while there is, there should be rules against it. I don’t mind carries or such in general, just in the case where it could be seen as rigging a race/contest.

Language is fluid though.

Yeah that’s pretty evident in this thread since the meaning of “win” has completely changed so people can turn tokens into the devil.

I don’t see why everyone is so against them. People were not going to stop buying gold from farmers and tokens took away a lot of their business. Tokens also allow people to play without a sub or those that whine non-stop about the shop to partake without spending a dime.

Oh damn. Language is chocolate?! When did that happen?

Could someone truly believe fluid means chocolate? Yes. Is it a valid definition? No.

This is what pay to win sounds like in this thread. They’re using a completely wrong definition, believe it’s true, and are stating it as fact.

It may not be “chocolate” now but that does not mean it will not or could reach “chocolate” at X amount of time passed. Just consider the usage of the word toon. People used to say that for characters they had in the game but not anymore. They instead use alt or character.

“x” amount of time hasn’t passed tho y’all just don’t want to be wrong in an argument

This is false

The same amount of time effort and skill went into getting the gear, the only thing that’s changed is whose hands the gold is in.

Unless you can swipe your card and get a tier set from the in-game shop without any other player interaction it is not pay to win

maizou, just pretend i’ve liked all your posts in this thread. i ran out an hour or two ago. :frowning:

you too tovi.
