LOL really? a survey

Survey results: Less RNG, revert the GCD changes, give people flying, bring back currency vendors for all game nodes, get rid of azerite.

Blizzard: Yeah we aren’t doing any of that. Let’s put more crap on the store instead!

I beat the crap out of Blizzard for a lot the issues we have in the game. I am very unhappy with BFA. That being said, if they have sent out a survey this is a really good thing. It could be possible that they are actually seeing what is going on here. It shows they haven’t encased themselves in a bubble refusing to see the actual reality of things. I just un-subbed, my guild is dead, my friends list has dried back up, I can’t bring myself to grind for every little thing in the game. I think it is stupid to make us grind to play certain races when we pay 15 dollars month and the list goes on. I will fill this survey out and hope to God they actually listen. I’m worried about this game because I just found out that J. Allen Brack worked on Star Wars Galaxies and I saw how that turned into a dumpster fire, WoW is on the same course maybe this survey will help and for the love of God development team, don’t let Brack sell you on a New Game Experience. Its a fu*king trap.

Probably prophetic and 100% true. Sadly.

Let’s go over each of your points here:

  • RNG: This has already been acknowleged as an issue by Blizzard.
  • GCD: This isn’t being reverted wholesale but Blizzard has made multiple changes to abilities on the GCD, while also removing abilities from the GCD based on player feedback.
  • Flying: You’re getting that next year in 8.2, you won’t get it sooner.
  • Currency Vendors: Blizzard added two of them in 8.1, they will no doubt add more as the game continues to develop. You won’t get vendors for every aspect of the game, but this is a good middle ground.
  • Azerite: On top of there being several changes already made to Azerite based on player feedback, in 8.2 they are not going to release more gear nodes for you to unlock and will be making the Heart of Azeroth act more like the artifacts from Legion. Again, more changes based on player feedback.

So now you know, but I’m sure you’ll probably just ignore them anyway like everyone else who claims Blizzard ‘ignores feedback’.

Don’t forget class builds.

So essentially none of the players’ concerns will actually be or have been dealt with.

Acknowledging the problem isn’t fixing it. And until and unless there are fixes to these items, it’s all just lip service.

Anti Blizzard shills are hypocrites.

First you complain Blizzard makes no effort to listen.

When they actually take a step to get feedback, you attack them for it.

Make up your minds.

If that’s what you managed to take from that, then nothing that I or Blizzard say will make a difference, so just don’t bother responding to me further. It will save us both time.

You could ask me the same thing, but you haven’t.

Also, those aren’t personal attacks… I mean, if you think those are personal attacks, claiming I am triggered is a personal attack. It’s not of course, and neither are the things you are claiming are either.

Why would I “fight you”? I thought you said I was the one that was triggered?

I wouldn’t ask you the same thing because I have no need to attack you. You and I disagree on the potential efficacy of the survey.

This has been the modus operandi for these people since Vanilla. Tseric said it best:

Can’t help it.
Posting impassionately, they say you don’t care.
Posting nothing, they say you ignore.
Posting with passion, you incite trolls.
Posting fluff, you say nonsense.
Post with what facts you have, they whittle down with rationale.
There is no win.
There is only slow degradation.
Take note. It is the first and only time you’ll see someone in my position make that position.
You can be me when I’m gone.

Blizzard could start communicating 100% all the time with these people and it still wouldn’t be good enough, because there is no ‘win’ there is only slow degradation. They will complain eternally until they quit, because that’s all they know how to do.

I’ve heard all this before. When changes are actually made to the game in response to any of the 10,000s of posts that have been made since Alpha, I will happily apologize.

In the meantime, I’m not holding my breath.

As an economist I can say that surveys yield a lot of useful information that is otherwise concealed in a sea of opinion.

Sure, I’d tell Blizzard just to read the forums to get a feel for the community, but in the end everyone has their own take.

So the best method is to use a survey to objectively guage the community at large, to quantify popular and unpopular opinions. I gladly filled it out.

and then …

I think we’re done here.

Communication isn’t the issue.

They can keep stringing us along and will. Remember flight in WoD? Strung us along till oops! Someone found the third party post stating that flight would be removed from the game henceforth.

So I don’t care what Blizzard says. The company has literally zero credibility with me.

When and if they actually fix anything significant in-game, I will be very, very surprised but happy.

I absolutely expect nothing.

Come on, dude.

All of this kicking and screaming because they’re not tailoring the game to you as an individual. Which there is an awful lot of.

It’s amazing how many people think that they’re not listening, because their own personal feelings aren’t being addressed. There’s millions of people playing this thing, maybe the game will never line up with what you want it to be.

I mean hell. They go out of their way to do a Q&A when they have time and they get backlash because it’s not all answers some people want to hear.

I mean obviously they give a crap about what we think. They’d have nothing to gain from these surveys and Q&As if they didn’t. But that doesn’t mean they’re going to try to custom tailor the game for a million different people at the same time.

I agree with what most are saying and would love to get a survey sent to me as well so I could share my thoughts and opinions…

Maybe this is a sign that they’re now willing to listen to feedback? It’s better than nothing to be honest.

People ask for alot from Blizz and when Blizz delievers, they automatically hate it. :stuck_out_tongue: gotta remember next to the sonic fanbase,WoW fans are probably the most fickle/finicky.

I would welcome a feedback survey. I personally find it more personal than airing out your thoughts on the forums for others to criticize your opinions.

Pardon me, but if you’re trying to make a point that Blizzard cares, using the Q&A is a bad example.

The Q/As are pre-cherry picked, non-spontaneous PR sessions (though the lead dev is hardly a great spokesperson). They rarely address any actual significant issues and almost always focus on pure trivia.

They aren’t doing us a favor by holding these – these are a requirement of their jobs.

Someone at Blizzard may care what we think. Unfortunately, no one who is in a position to do anything about it is included in that group.

Show me a single positive significant change that has been made in response to feedback:

GCD? Still there
crap class builds : still there
Layered RNG" still there
Vendors: Oh yeah, the’re coming… hold your breath
Leveling XP in dungeons - there is a 2500+ thread about this still ongoing issues
Leveling XP: increased XP cap for 40 levels then gradually lowered to 60 then raised again? Net change: insignificant
Player loot options: still no
Player flight? Still no, effectively eliminated from the xpac for most players
Heirloom nerf: not fixed

Listening is one thing
Doing is another, altogether.

Um what? They weren’t doing monthly Q&As before, this is a courtesy for us because we have people constantly complaining about communication.

And what’s this nonsense about cherry picked? Of course it is. It’s topics they think approach the broadest audience. Just because they’re not addressing what you feel is important, doesn’t mean it’s nonsense.

This is a very diverse player base.

They removed the GCD from a lot of crap since the start of BFA.
They added vendors in to counter RNG.
As for the leveling change, that’s just insane babble. I’m gonna stop here.

This is just asinine ranting. It’s obvious from some of this that you will never be pleased by what they give you.
