When we login, are they ever going to fix it to where it goes right to your main server and into the character selection screen? Or are we always going to get the server list. Kinda annoying at this point.

that would be fantastic. maybe its ‘authenticity’ i have no idea how it worked in vanilla.

its been too long so i dont’ recall this, had to throw that in just in case it set everyone off the deep end. :D.
Just play OC. Only 4 servers to choose from.
Yeah it’s been too long I can’t remember either. Close to 15 years of logging in all the time, such a minor detail of char screen vs server screen.

But…but…how am i supposed to lol at all the full servers when i login each time ?
When you log in on retail, it doesn’t go to your main server, it goes to the last server you were logged in on. If that’s your only server, then it would be to your main server.

I feel like this is a leftover from the name reservation or something where they wanted players to start first on the server selection. It’s strange they haven’t changed it so you go directly to the character select screen. They need to do that.
Theres still new / returning players coming to classic though, and new servers aren’t off the table yet as layering starts being removed.
What does that have to do with sending players that already have characters on Classic servers straight to the character select screen on log in?

Its an insignificant minority of players who even visit the forum, a smaller number still who even post.
So while were waiting for things to settle, for many people the only way they get to know about new servers etc is through the login screen.
Obviously if you have no characters created it would send you to the server selection screen. But otherwise it should be at the character screen of whatever server you were last on.
Im on Oceanic realms, we have the screen splash and then have to select the tab at the bottom before we can the select our server, so i hear you but…
While new servers are still possibly on the horizon, i can see why they leave it as is right now. You also have people who rolled on extremely high pop severs to then make toons on other servers, so multiple toons on servers is a thing. If you then couple that with queues, its easy to see some switching toons based on queus at login.
