Primary cause: Downloaded the TWW 11.0 PTR client or maintenance has broken authentication.
When I opened the TWW PRT client, it asked for my Username / Password and then for an authenitcator code. I then opened the Battle.net client on my phone to get a code and the phone app asked me to log in and then it asked me for a code. Since I no longer have a separate physical code generator, I am kind of stuck. Can opener in a can syndrome.
Also just checked the other clients and they (Classic, Cata Classic, Retail) are all back to username + password and then ask for a code. At this time I am locked out of all WoW software. Also note that the battle.net client on my PC is now reporting that it is “Attempting to Reconnect”.
Update as of 6/26/24
Client login fixed itself later in the evening after initial post. I can access all production games. I cannot access the TWW Pre-expansion PTR due to not having the right access license and that may be working as expected since I have not purchased the next expansion.
So problems mostly resolved except for my Battle.Net phone client. It is providing the login/token information to the game client but I cannot log into the phone client. When I try, after providing my username and password, it is asking me to “Check your Authenticator for request AAAA,” Then another message below saying to “Tap Approve Device to Continue” but I do not see any buttons/hotspot to activate to approve anything. Also, it doesn’t make much sense to me to ask me to approve a device when I am trying to log into that device?
Tried the link to remove the phone Battle.Net authenticator from the account but got a message that I had made Too Many Attempts and to try again later.
Not sure what I should do at this point.
