"Login Failed"

I recently purchased a race change for my main character, and also changed his name. Once I finished in the character creator, I became locked out. Now whenever I try to log in to that specific character I get kicked back to the character select screen after failing the login boss with the error “Login failed”

I have tried the following steps to solve this issue:

  1. Deleting my WTF, Cache and CTF folders
  2. Running a ‘Scan and Repair’ from the launcher
  3. Reinstalling
  4. Updating my graphics driver
  5. Adjust in-game settings to lower graphics
  6. Checked for overheating
  7. Restarting my Computer

I opened a ticket with blizzard tech support to see if they could assist me, and they sent a generic message telling me to try the above steps. After they did not work, I reopened the ticked and asked for further assistance and this is the message I got:

It is not an ISP issue, I can log into any other character.

So here I am, as requested by blizzard tech support, asking for help.

This doesn’t specifically sound like a technical issue, but a payment one. Try putting in a purchase failed ticket to have billing take a second look.
