I am having an issues that started since after the patch. I was able to play and login in without any issues prior to the patch, but since then, I haven’t been able to login. A few things have been happening:
One thing, the game will stay on the title screen with Logging in to Game Server
Another thing it does, it goes past the Logging in to Game Server, but I get to the Character Select screen and it is all black, can’t interact with any buttons except the menu button to quit.
One time, I was able to access the Addons menu, I tried to disable all of them, but none of the addon checkmarks could be interacted with
After that, I assumed it was maybe a file issue or something, I tried various things like:
Change the config.wtf file to a backup
Change the interface/cache/wtf files to backup
Uninstalled and deleted all addons
Scan and Repair
Uninstalled and reinsalled the battle.net launcher
Uninstalled and reinstalled both the battle.net launcher and game
After all of those steps individually, I reset and tried it again, all to no avail and I still get the same previously mentioned results. I don’t know what to do, it is getting very frustrating because I don’t have much time to play to begin with.
Any help would be appreciated.
Edit: I don’t know why this is posting on my classic character, my retail characters are not showing up for some reason, not sure if that is related or not.
Edit 2: This is really ridiculous, I have tried even more things and it is still not working. I have tried windowed mode, I have tried watching an opening cinematic, I have tried simply waiting on various screens. It doesn’t always get past Logging in to Game Server, tried waiting there for over 10 minutes, I have had it go to the Character Screen where no characters appear and waiting there for over 10 minutes too, nothing. I need some friggin help, I just want to play my game or give me my game time back.
I am sorry you have the same thing, but kind of glad it isn’t just me, for a second I was starting to think there was something wrong on my end, I have literally tried everything and I am still hanging on the screen hoping my toons will just show up.
If you pressed PLAY before the update was finished and if you have battle.net to shut down when you press play.
The download may not have finished.
Try just restarting computer and then battle.net…dont press play untill it is done.

Appreciate it, but I have tried everything humanly possible. I have even reinstalled the game as well as battle.net, made sure I waited until everything was done, but no cigar.
Thanks for reaching out and sharing these details! It sounds like there is a problem establishing a stable connection to the game server. Can you temporarily test an alternate network such as a mobile hotspot or VPN? This helps determine whether the problem is isolated to the network or computer.
If you can log in consistently when using a different network, at that point we can be sure that the issue is isolated to the primary network. In these situations, you will need to contact your Internet service provider since they’ll be equipped to diagnose the issue. They might need to adjust network-level security/firewall settings or temporarily replace the network device(s) in your home to isolate it. When contacting the ISP you can request to speak to a “level 2 or level 3 technician” since the front-line representatives typically only have access to basic diagnostics and troubleshooting tools.
If the same behavior occurs on a different network, be sure to fully update or temporarily uninstall antivirus programs which may be interfering with your connection.

I tried using my phone has a mobile hotspot and it did actually work! But going back to my home network, it gave me the same issue as before, what should I do now? I didn’t change anything since I last played…
I am in the same boat as you, I can play any and every other game, except WoW, WoW Classic, and WoW WOTLK. Everything else is fine and it worked up until the patch. I have reinstalled Bnet too many times, I have reinstalled WoW too many times already. I am in Japan and I have zero inclination to talk to my ISP about something like this when literally nothing else changed…
hmm, I think we may be on to something, I am in Tokyo. I think the new patch might have done something about the region. I found a very interesting thread from about 2 years ago with JPN players have issues connecting to OCE servers, which seems very similar to what is happening here now, there really isn’t a solution to it, but if you want to give it a read, here it is.
I have an open ticket with a GM on the matter at the moment, is anything comes from it, I will let you know for sure. I am just pissed because it is Silver Week here and I have 5 days off, I was planning on catching up on all the stuff I’ve missed. I might actually contact my ISP, I am using ITSCOM, how about you?

My first three day weekend in a long time and I had nothing but hopes for a solid three days of WoW.
I really don’t want that to be Diablo4.
I called ITSCOM earlier, told them the situation, they took down all the info and said they would look into it.
I didn’t get a call back, but it is working now, I guess they must have flipped a couple switches or opened some ports or something, but it is working for me for now. I hope you can enjoy your Silver Week Embalmer and don’t have to play D4, lol.
