Logged out in TN last night, logging in and I was at RFD

So I’m not sure why, But I logged out last night from my level 34 rogue, I logged out INSIDE a cave in thousand needles. The cave north of freewind post. When I logged back in this morning, My rogue was standing at the entrance to Razor fen downs…
I was not hacked, I know this because I have a physical authenticator tied to my account. (not the app kind) as well, I was discovering all the areas around RFD for the first time while sneaking out of the pre dungeon area around RFD.

What the actual crap? Why did I log out in thousand needles only to log back in standing at the entrance of RFD…?

Getting so drunk you don’t remember drinking and then waking up in a strange place is usually an indicator of serious alcoholism.

If those locations weren’t so close to eachother id say maybe a glitch. In this case the glitch is your memory.

No Fair!

It’s a known bug on classic servers. Look up logout skip on YouTube.

I have a vague memory that if a zone has a cave on the very edge, and you go deep enough inside the cave that you cross the zone boundary, the server can have trouble remembering where you are if you die or log out.

Also happens in some of the bug tunnels in Silithus, as I recall.

If you’re really curious, go back to that spot and log out and see if it happens again. (I assume the overnight delay is not relevant, and you could log back in right away.)
