Hey guys, new rogue here.
Is lock picking useless now? There are a bunch of doors that are “locked” yet my pick lock ability has not effect or says out of range. Am I doing something wrong or is it useless?
Not useless. You still find locked boxes around and those are sometimes worth a nice chuck of change.
But outside of that, not a lot of uses.

Rogues are damn near mandatory in Tol Dagor due to lockpicking, it definitely ain’t useless. What you’re looking for is a door with “Locked” in colored text in the tooltip.
Also, lockboxes are still a thing, granting a random green (good if you have an enchanter alt) and reasonable amount of gold (~100g, iirc). While a couple professions can open them as well, rogues can for free.
