I’m not saying I’m okay with it, simply stating that it’s already been addressed. And while it may have been designed that way, that may not be the current design they’re using. No it’s not hard to ask a morden dev to recode the system, and not sure why they haven’t.
Yes, this seems strange to me too. My only guess would be that not nearly as many people would be willing to roll and level an alt from level 1 on a locked server vs. just paying to transfer their characters there. I think a lot of people would be willing to transfer to Benediction if they were allowed to, but I don’t think nearly as many people would be willing to level all over again. Keep in mind, character creation just reopened for the locked realms… like within the last 2 days so even that wasn’t an option for a long time. I guess the population has dipped enough for them to allowed character creation, but not enough to allow transfers. This is of course just my assumption, right or wrong, idk.
I think I recall Aggrend saying it’s something they will discuss, but gave no ETA on if or when it would occur.
They seem to have unlocked all servers. Good news. But dont let this momentary good news distract you from the fact that they still havent given faction change… cmon blizzard!!!
Where did you read this? I’m still getting a notification saying that Faeralina is not accepting transfers when I try to move my toon over. This is with existing toons on Faeralina.
So what I get from this post is. Due to Blizzard being dumb and completely screwing over Skyfury with free transfer outs and locking the server I have to play on a 6k pop server even though I have 6 lvl 70s on Grobbulus (my original server). Seems like all they do is fail now. They cant remaster games, they cant handle bots, they cant stop gold sellers, they rerelease a game 15yr old and still have tons of bugs. At this point seems like it make more sense just to play on a private server lol. Online says they have 800k subs to WOTLK and on Ironforge shows 480k people logging. Think they would do a bit more for those players when low end they are making 7.2m - 12m a month just on WOTLK subs providing the numbers given are remotely accurate.

In the first few hours when that support article was updated there were a lot less servers on the list that weren’t accepting transfers. I rush to try and transfer since the one I’m aiming for wasn’t on the list to find it wasn’t yet available. I was still happy hoping that it would be in a couple of days. Later that day the page was updated to the current state
I hope that the first update of the page was a leek of what’s to come, hopfully soon.
