I was playing on Grob before the expansion dropped. Because of the queue times, I switched over to Earthfury, thinking a lot of other people would as well. Currently, finding groups for anything is such a hassle as no one seems to be doing anything. I checked the server pop and its one of the lowest.
With this in mind, I wanted to switch back to a more populated server where people are actually playing the game. It seems every server worth going to is locked and I am unable to transfer (Pagle, Bene, etc.).
I would love to be able to transfer to a server where people are actually playing the game and wondered if this lock is forever?

Hardly anybody is playing toons less than 70 atm on any server.
Oh sorry I did not clarify. I was speaking more for things like heroics on my 80 paladin. Even the current content dungeons seem empty.
Unfortunately Blizzard has no idea how to manage their servers properly. I played in vanilla classic. Was married in BC classic so took a long hiatus. When I came back the server I was on literally had 5 people my faction online so I took a free transfer to Grob where my real life friends were. Had a great time there for 8 or so months before the pre-patch came and I couldn’t play due to the Queue. At first I started a toon on Skyfury to let the hype on Grob die down a bit, but soon that had a Queue too. I took a free transfer to Sulfuras and was able to play until Wratch launched… then there was a Queue there. My friends group got split up during this time. Luckily I was able to get another free transfer and am now on Eranikus with my entire real life friends group. I empathize with your plight and hope that Blizzard is able to fix your issues.

You were getting queues on sulfuras? That’s the server I’m on and I don’t even get home from work until 5pm server time and not once have I seen a queue. I got my son a subscription to play with me last week and that’s when I learned that the server was locked.

I’m having the same issue. I transferred from Feralina because of the queue times to Earthfury. I’m struggling to find a 25 man naxx team because there is just about no one ever running it except a few select guilds.
When i made this toon a few days ago i wanted to play with my buddies on fearlina but you cannot even make a level 1 if you don’t already have a toon. Hoping when the hype dies down and i cap they let me xfer over if not oh well i just bg anyway i don’t plan on raiding this pack but it does suck in general.
They really need to start unlocking servers now, people are leaving this game on a daily basis, no servers are having queues except maybe Benediction on peak hours. The “fear of queue” of Ulduar release is destroying players’ gaming experience atm, and when Ulduar actually hit, who knows how many more players have already quit the game for good.
Some of us do not have queus on this server. Others do have queues for this server. I have always been able to log in instantly on this toon.

Lock isnt forever but will last longer than needed, everyone who transferred off a mega server was told this would happen once the queues died down.

What’s funny is just before launch when all the queues were happening players were on here blasting Blizzard for not locking servers way earlier, despite no queues, since they should have known population would spike when Wrath launched.
