Since the Quest section doesn’t seem to get much traffic…
Trying to get the key for this chest. I know from wowhead that you get a trap from the dude in the cave. Only problem is I can only get the unstable trap and not the one I need. Do you need the achievement to get the correct trap?
Ive done all the quests and almost all of the console. As far as I know, ive done every quest in the zone unless there is a rep based one. Tirim (Firim or whatever) is still neutral yellow, though I am 9000/12000 honored with The Enlightened.
Any help would be appreciated.
It’s something you’ll have best luck with when the daily quest pops up from Firim. Then he’ll give you the collector and you go around collecting. Once you hit quota, you can continue collecting.
The drop rate is low, however. I just ignored it mostly, did a few above and beyond collections when the quest is up and after 2, 3 quests at the most had enough to create an object (the Ephemera orb) that may drop a key.
That’s the irritating part. It doesn’t always drop a key.

I’ve gotten a couple of the provis cache keys from this:

Warning, this is going straight into spoilers.
That drops from assembling 15 ephemera strands into an ephemera orb. I managed to get that drop on two of my characters by just doing the dailies, but you can also borrow his extra trap.
I did have to get the extra trap out to learn Wicked Popoc through the kismetric disc and the other items it needs.
Thats the problem. He only offers me the unstable containment trap and not the spare forge trap.
You have to do the daily with it once before you can get it from him. Just check his dailies… uh… daily.

I believe he has to have a specific quest available that requires the forge tap, in order for you to be able to get the spare one.
It’s not up every day.

Daily popped today. So the trap is now available. Got 8 doing the daily and other items I need to look up.
