Lock out Classic posters for commenting

As someone else said before (can’t remember who or I’d give them credit), I think one of the best ways to combat trolling and annoying people on the Arena forums is to make commenting on the forums require:

1.) A retail character

2.) At least level 50 – solely so that the requirement is they are using a toon that has made it to current xpac content.

If people are going to post their terrible and/or annoying opinions they should have to put their name behind it.

Those are still opinions. Troll or not, these players pay their monthly sub and can post if they want.

You however, do not need to read or reply to said players.

‘Please censor what I don’t like, thanks’

This post sums up today’s society.

at first i did it because that just so happened to be my selected character when i logged in

but then i realized it made people mald for no reason lol so i just stick with posting onmy classic char

for example that Inmotions guys literally assumes im this human warrior and puts together screenshots and analyzes post history and match history of said warrior. borderline creepy stalkerish behavior. all for what? that warrior is higher CR than me so if I really was that war I’d just be posting on him lol.

Not really. The forums have had an issue with people trolling and positioning non stop garbage from anon characters and requiring to post on a retail character would fix that

Doesn’t really censor people they can still post garbage but atleast they have to put their name on it.

That isn’t at all what he’s saying.

Willfully missing the point and responding accordingly? Yes, that is what many people do on forums. Self-awareness is key.

What’s even more weird is those people who care what digital pixel someone is posting from. SAD!

I think most people with a modicum of common sense have said this at one point or another

its weird

if pikaboo came on here and said something… yall would succ the man dry

but if a classic alt came and said the same thing yall would blaccball him

yall r so socially awkward man lol

I like this idea but ti can see some problems it might have with the forums in general. New players need to be able to post and ask questions regardless of their level or experience. Although I think a minimum level of 10 is required, so raising that to cap for specifically arena would be a great start.

How about making people use their Battle Net IDs instead of characters and bypass the whole problem.

pretty sure they tried this and the people in the community had a nuclear meltdown because they think the internet man is gonna steal their identity or something

It works on the Overwatch and other Blizzard forums. Why not here?

idk too many boomers on wow

the diablo forums are like this though?
and if u click on it you see all of their characters

i wish i could give yall a legitimate reason why its only like this on wow forums but I don’t know nor remember if they actually ever gave one :man_shrugging:

Yeah too much trolling and “git gud” posts from level 10 accounts who want to hide their 1500 max xp

Two things:

  1. There are Arenas in Classic. The Classic forums are too broad and general to bring Arena specific posts to so they have to come here.

  2. Most of the trolling I see comes from Retail characters.

Are Classic characters nameless? And what do you even mean by “terrible and annoying” opinions? Does that just mean stuff that you personally disagree with?

I got an email from Amazon saying someone stole my account and to reset my password, I don’t even have Amazon! You can’t tell me the internet man is not trying to steal my Amazon identity
